Abstract
Salah satu metode Oral Assessment yang diterapkan di FKG UB untuk mengevaluasi hasil belajar mahasiswa adalah SOCA (Structured Oral Case Analysis) yang mengharuskan mahasiswa untuk mendemonstrasikan pengetahuan, keterampilan, komunikasi, dan interaksi ilmiah yang telah didapat selama pembelajaran tahap sarjana dengan cara menyelesaikan instruksi pada skenario kasus klinis. SOCA menjadi salah satu syarat kelulusan mahasiswa tingkat akhir tahap sarjana FKG UB. Sehubungan dengan nilai kelulusan SOCA yang kurang memuaskan, FKG UB mulai menerapkan metode pembelajaran Case Based Learning yang diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menganalisa suatu kasus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh penerapan metode CBL (Case Based Learning) terhadap nilai SOCA mahasiswa tahap sarjana FKG UB. Desain penelitian menggunakan Pre-experimental Design dengan rancangan penelitian Intact Group Comparison. Seluruh mahasiswa tahap sarjana yang tidak mendapatkan pembelajaran CBL dan yang mendapatkan pembelajaran CBL menjadi sampel penelitian (total sampling). Analisa data menggunakan Uji T dan didapatkan hasil nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 lebih kecil dari α (0,05), yang menandakan nilai ujian SOCA mahasiswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran CBL lebih baik daripada mahasiswa yang tidak mendapatkan pembelajaran CBL. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pada penerapan metode CBL terhadap nilai ujian SOCA mahasiswa tahap sarjana FKG UB.
English Abstract
One of the Oral Assessment method that applied in Dentistry Brawijaya University in order to evaluate student’s outcome is called SOCA (Student Oral Case Analysis) which requires student to demonstrate their knowledge, skill, communication, and scientific interaction during the undergraduate lecture by complete the instruction given in the form of clinical case scenarios. SOCA is another graduation requirements and is done by last year undergraduate dentistry student. The passing grade of SOCA is not satisfying enough. So that, the stakeholder of dentistry faculty begin to use another education system called CBL (Case Based Learning) with hope CBL can increase student’s ability to analyze the clinical case scenarios. Pre-experimental Design with Intact Group Comparison was conducted to the students with CBL application and students without CBL application. The collected data were analyzed by T-Test Independent Sample, and the result showed that the value is 0,000 lesser than α (0,05) which means, SOCA grade of the students with CBL application is better than students without CBL application. Conclusion of this research is there is positive effect of Case Base Learning Method with Undergraduate Dentistry Brawijaya University Student’s SOCA Grade.
