Abstract
Bangunan stasiun memiliki area masuk utama yang merupakan ruang awal masuknya pengunjung dan pengguna stasiun. Area masuk ini sendiri memiliki 3 bagian, yakni teras stasiun, lobby utama, dan akses menuju peron stasiun. Teras stasiun pada umumnya difungsikan juga sebagai area transisi antara ruang luar dan area dalam. Kemudian pada bagian lobby utama ini juga memiliki fungsi bangunan yang lebih kompleks yaitu terdapat area tiket dan ruang duduk. Dan yang terakhir adalah akses menuju peron stasiun. Peron stasiun sendiri merupakan area untuk menunggu kereta dan area yang langsung berbatasan dengan rel kereta. Adanya 3 kelas pada stasiun di wilayah Malang, yaitu stasiun kelas besar, kelas sedang dan kelas kecil. Stasiun ini pasti memiliki area masuk utama yang merupakan ruang sentral kegiatan di stasiun. Dan adanya perbedaan kelas stasiun ini membuat karakteristik spasialnya harus mampu memenuhi pada kasus bangunan stasiun. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui karakteristik spasial area masuk utama dan sebagai kajian teoritik untuk melihat bagaimana area masuk utama sebagai area sentral yang memenuhi pada kasus bangunan stasiun. Metode yang digunakan merupakan metode analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Setelah variabel penelitian ditentukan dari rumusan masalah, analisis dilakukan dengan membandingkan data hasil observasi dengan teori yang ada. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat karakteristik spasial area masuk utama pada semua kelas stasiun di wilayah Malang. Dari analisis yang telah dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat karakteristik organisasi ruang yang dominan pada area masuk utama bangunan stasiun. Karakteristik ini mewakili dari keseluruhan jenis kelas pada stasiun.
English Abstract
Train station buildings require an entrance that becomes the first area which welcomes visitors when they first enter the building. This entrance area includes three sections, which are the station porch, main lobby, and access to the station platforms. Train station porches are also commonly used as a transition between outdoor and indoor areas. Meanwhile, main lobbies contain more complex functions, which are lockets and seating areas. Lastly, access to the train station platforms is included due to how the platforms themselves are used as waiting areas and side by side with the railways. There are three classes that become the categories of train stations in Malang, which are big, medium, and small train stations. These stations must have entrance areas where the central activities occur. Thus, the categorization of the train stations makes each station’s spatial characteristics necessary to be fulfilled. The study aims to identify the spatial characteristics of train station’s entrance area and theoretically observe this area as the central part of the building based on its category. The used method of this study is qualitative descriptive analysis. After obtaining the study’s variables from the determined problem, the analysis is conducted by comparing observation results with the used theory. The result of this study shows that there are several spatial characteristics in entrance areas of each Malang train station category. From the conducted analysis, it can be concluded that space organization becomes the dominant characteristic in the entrance areas of the observed train stations. This characteristic represents all categories of the train stations.
