Abstract

Currently, satisfaction is the most important factor in order to attract customers. Customer satisfaction is considered to be important given the condition of competition among producers is increasing. Therefore it requires the company to provide good quality and product precision so that it can lead to customer satisfaction. In line with the statement of Amir (2005), customer satisfaction is the extent to which the benefit of a product is perceived in accordance to what is expected by customers. For example in agriculture, companies that produce pesticides with various brands always face an intense competition (Mustikarini et al, 2014). Therefore companies must be able to highlight the advantages of various attributes that are offered. Based on the existing research and the phenomenon in the field, several objectives of this research are formulated, they are (1) Analyzing the attributes considered by rice farmers towards insecticide SUMO® 50 EC, and (2) Analyzing the level of rice farmers satisfaction in the using insecticide SUMO® 50 EC. This research was located in Pendem Village, Junrejo Sub-District, Batu City. Research location was determined purposively with a consideration that Pendem Village is one of the villages known as rice producer in Batu City. Sampling method was used Slovin formula with 39 farmers. The analysis used to measure the level of satisfaction of rice farmers in Pendem Village is Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) and Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI). Before doing the analysis the instruments were tested in the form of its validity and reliability in which the validity test should show the value of r arithmetic ≥ r table at a significant level of 0.05, and reliability test must have Cronbach Alpha value > 0.6 (Arikunto, 1993). Through the method of IPA it was found that the average performance level of 2.87 and interest level of 3.06. the value is used as the intersection point between X and Y on the cartesian diagram. Moreover to gain the priority in order in the company's strategy, the information on the result of the suitability rate is transformed into Cartesian diagram using SPSS 23. Customer Satisfaction Index considers to be the important attribute in determining the level of attribute satisfaction that will ultimately affect the total satisfaction level of consumers in using insecticide product SUMO® 50 EC. The value of CSI is directly proportional the average score of interest and performance score, therefore if the average score interests and performance scores is improved it will affect the increasing value of CSI (Aritonang, 2005). It was found that the value of CSI is 60.8%. According to Pratama, et al (2011) if the CSI index value in the range of 66%-80.99% it considers ‘enough’. It can be concluded that 1. The iiiattributes considered by farmers as consumers of insecticide SUMO® 50 EC on rice commodities are attributes of features and serviceability dimension. 2. Farmers' satisfaction level in using the insecticide SUMO® 50 EC on rice commodities is included in the category of ‘enough satisfied’. The category is obtained from the results of CSI analysis with a value of 60.8% which means consumers are in ‘enough satisfied’. Based on the research results and clonclusion there are several suggestions: (1) The next researchers are expected to examine for attributes other than those that are used in this study, so that producers would know other attributes that are considered to affect consumer satisfaction of insecticides SUMO® 50 E; (2) Manufacturers should be able to make consumers more satisfied by improving attributes in which its performance are not in accordance with consumer expectations but considered as important such as instructions for use and ease of application, so that consumers will feel more satisfied with the product.
