Abstract
Berdasarkan laporan Survei Kesehatan Rumah Tangga tahun 2011, penyakit periodontal menduduki urutan kedua dengan jumlah penderita 60% penduduk Indonesia. Penyuluhan kesehatan jaringan periodontal dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan anak tentang kesehatan jaringan periodontal hingga akhirnya menurunkan angka kejadian penyakit periodontal. Dalam penelitian ini, penyuluhan diberikan dengan media poster dan permainan dental card (Dent-C). Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk membandingkan keefektifan antara penyuluhan dengan media poster dan permainan Dental Card (Dent-C) terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan kesehatan jaringan periodontal pada siswa usia 10-12 tahun di SDN Bunulrejo 5 dan 6 Malang. Penelitian menggunakan Group Pre-Test dan Post-Test Design. Sampel dipilih dengan teknik total sampling, kemudian dibagi menjadi dua kelompok dengan teknik sample random sampling, yaitu kelompok poster dan Dent-C. Variabel yang diteliti adalah peningkatan pengetahuan yang diukur dengan kuesioner pre-test dan post-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua media ini mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan di SDN Bunulrejo 5 dan 6 secara signifikan. Jika dilihat dari selisih skor post-test dan pre-testdidapatkan Dent-C memiliki skor lebih tinggi dibanding poster di kedua sekolah. Jadi dapat disimpulkan Dent-C lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan kesehatan jaringan periodontal dibandingkan poster pada siswa SDN Bunulrejo 5 dan 6 Malang.
English Abstract
Based on the 2011 household health survey report departement of health, periodontal disease ranks second in the number of patients with 60% of Indonesias population. The Periodontal health education is done to increase childrens knowledge on the Periodontal health until it lowers the incidence of periodontal disease. On this research, the periodontal health education was given by showing the posters and dental card game (Dent-C). The purpose of this research is to compare the effectiveness of dental education using the posters and Dental Card (Dent-C) to increase the knowledge of the periodontal health in students aged 10-12 years in Elementary School of Bunulrejo 5 and 6 Malang. This research using Group Pre-Test and Post-Test Design. Samples were selected with a total sampling technique, and then divided into two groups with simple random sampling technique, the poster and Dent-Cgroups. The improvement knowledge as measured by a questionnaire pre-test andpost-test. The results indicated that bothwere able to improve the knowledge of students in SDN Bunulrejo 5 and 6 significantly.When viewed from the difference between the post-test and pre-test scores, it was clearly seen that Dent-C had a higher score than the posters at both schools. In brief,Dent-Cwasmore effective than poster in improving the knowledge of periodontal health in student of Bunulrejo 5 and 6 Elementary School of Malang.
