Abstract
Kesehatan gigi dan mulut merupakan bagian integral dari kesehatan tubuh, artinya tubuh yang sehat tidak terlepas dari memiliki gigi dan mulut sehat. Berdasarkan hasil studi morbiditas SKRT-Surkenas tahun 2004 penyakit gigi dan mulut menduduki urutan pertama dari daftar 10 besar penyakit yang paling sering dikeluhkan masyarakat. Menyikat gigi adalah salah satu upaya menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut anak dibutuhkan selama proses sosialisasi dan sebaiknya sejak usia dini. Dalam penelitian ini teknik menyikat gigi yang dipakai adalah metode roll dan horizontal. Kebersihan gigi dan mulut responden dinilai dengan alat ukur berupa Debris Index dan Plaque Index. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efektifitas teknik menyikat gigi metode roll dan horizontal pada anak usia 8-11 tahun di SDN Tunjung Sekar 3 Kota Malang. Penelitian ini merupakan studi wilcoxon dan t bebas. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan rumus Slovin sebanyak 150 siswa, dibagi menjadi dua yaitu kelompok pertama dan kelompok kedua. Kelompok pertama melakukan teknik menyikat gigi metode roll dan kelompok kedua melakukan teknik menyikat gigi metode horizontal. Nilai Debris index dan Plaque Index dilihat sebelum dan sesudah menyikat gigi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa teknik menyikat gigi dengan metode roll lebih efektif dibanding teknik menyikat gigi metode horizontal. Dari uji t didapatkan nilai signifikansinya yaitu p < 0,05. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan nilai Debris Index dan Plaque Index antara teknik menyikat gigi metode roll dengan teknik menyikat gigi metode horizontal.
English Abstract
Oral health is an integral part of the health of the body, which means that a healthy body is inseparable from having a healthy mouth and teeth. Based on the results of a study of morbidity SKRT-Surkenas 2004, dental and mouth diseases occupy first place from a list of the top 10 diseases that most often complain about the community. Brushing your teeth is one of the efforts to maintain oral health needs during the process of socializing children and preferably from an early age. In this research technique of brushing method used is the roll and horizontally. Dental and oral hygiene of respondents assessed by measuring instrument in the form of Debris Index and Plaque Index. The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of technique of brushing the roll and horizontal method on children aged 8-11 years in SDN Tunjung Sekar 3 Malang City. This research is a study of wilcoxon and t-independent. The technique uses the Slovins formula sampling as many as 150 students, divided into two groups, namely the first and second groups. The first group did the technique roll method and the second group did the technique horizontal method. The value of Debris and Plaque index Index views before and after brushing teeth. Results of the study showed that the technique of brushing with a roll method is more effective than horizontal method. From t-Test in get value of their significance, namely p < 0,05. it can be concluded that there is a difference between the Debris and Plaque Index Index between brushing technique method of roll with a horizontal method of brushing techniques
