Abstract
Dukungan sosial merupakan salah satu sumber koping bagi seseorang yang mengalami stres selain aset ekonomi, bakat dan kemampuan, teknik pertahanan dan motivasi. Dukungan sosial teman sebaya adalah sumber dukungan yang paling utama bagi remaja karena pada masa remaja mereka akan lebih dekat dengan teman-temannya dari pada orang tuannya. Kelompok teman sebaya memiliki peran yang sangat penting bagi perkembangan remaja baik secara emosional maupun secara sosial. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara tingkat dukungan sosial teman sebaya dengan jenis mekanisme koping terhadap stres pada remaja di SMAN 8 Malang. Adapun desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif analitik dengan metode pendekatan cross sectional. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI SMAN 8 Malang yang berjumlah 186 orang. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah tingkat dukungan sosial teman sebaya, sedangkan variabel terikatnya yaitu jenis mekanisme koping terhadap stres. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar kuesioner yang kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji Spearman Rank. Berdasarkan uji Spearman Rank didapatkan nilai P = 0,000 sehingga H0 ditolak pada selang kepercayaan 95% (P<0,05) dan didapatkan hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat dukunagan sosial teman sebaya dengan jenis mekanisme koping terhadap stres pada remaja di SMAN 8 Malang. Besar korelasi (ρ) antara kedua variabel adalah 0,445 yang berarti korelasi tersebut bernilai positif dengan keeratan sedang, sehingga semakin tinggi tingkat dukungan sosial yang diperoleh maka akan semakin adaptif mekanisme koping yang digunakan.
English Abstract
Social support is one of some coping sources for someone who have stress besides economic asset, skill and potential, defense strategy and motivation. Peer social support is a main source of support for teenager because in adolescent they are closer to their friends than their parents. Peer have important role for the development of emotion and social in teenager. Besed on the explanation, the research aimed to know the relation between stage of peer social support with the tipe of coping mechanism of stress in teenager in Senior High School 8 Malang. Respondent in this research is the student of XI class and numbered by 186 respondents. Independent variable in this research is stage of peer social support, whereas the dependent variabel is type of coping mechanism of stress. The instrument for collecting data is questionnaire that analized using Spearman Rank test. Based on the Spearman Rank test, it obtained P value = 0.000 that indicates H0 is rejected and the relation between stage of peer social support with the type of coping mechanism is significant. The correlation value (ρ) between both variables is 0.445, it means that correlation values is positive with medium tightness, so if the peer social support is high than the type of coping mechanism in adaptive.
