Abstract
Pendidikan kesehatan gigi dan mulut merupakan salah satu upaya yang sangat penting untuk meningkatkan kesehatan gigi dan mulut pada anak, salah satu pendidikan kesehatan gigi dan mulut yang biasa dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kesehatan gigi dan mulut adalah penyuluhan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji efektifitas penyuluhan dengan media animasi terhadap peningkatan perilaku kesehatan gigi dan mulut siswa kelas 5 SDN Kedung Kandang 2 Malang. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 40 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre eksperimental dengan rancangan penelitian one group pretest posttest. Berdasarkan hasil uji t-berpasangan diketahui bahwa tidak ada perbedaan rata-rata tingkat pengetahuan dan sikap kesehatan gigi dan mulut sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan dengan media animasi yang diberikan selama tiga minggu, sedangkan untuk tindakan terdapat peningkatan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penyuluhan kesehatan gigi dan mulut tidak efektif terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan dan sikap (p=0,254 dan p=0,125), sebaliknya penyuluhan kesehatan gigi dan mulut efektif terhadap peningkatan perilaku kesehatan gigi dan mulut siswa (p=0,011). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, maka disarankan untuk membuat media animasi yang lebih kreatif dan inovatif.
English Abstract
Dental health education is an effort for improving oral and dental health in children. The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of counseling with the media of animation to the improvement of oral health behaviour of 5th grade student of SDN Kedung Kandang 2 Malang. The population of this study was 40 students. Instrument used was a questionnaire. The research design used was pre experimental with research plan one group pretest and postest. The result of this experiment shows that there is no difference in the average level of knowledge and attitudes of oral health before and after counseling with the given media animation for three weeks, while there is an increase in the practice. The conclusion of this study is dental health education is not effective in improving of knowledge and attitudes students (p=0,254 dan p=0,125), the other way, dental health education effective to the improvement of students action. Based on this study, it is suggested that animation media must be make more inovative and creative to stimulate audiences’s interest.
