Abstract
Perpustakaan merupakan tempat dimana berbagai informasi dikumpulkan, disimpan, dirawat dan diolah untuk kemudian disajikan tanpa ada maksud mencari keuntungan. Pada era informasi, kebutuhan informasi semakin meningkat sehingga fenomena banjir informasi tak dapat dihindari.Untuk mengatasinya perpustakaan menerapkan sistem otomasi yaitupenggunaan bantuan teknologi informasi untuk mempermudah pelayanan dan mempercepat penyelesaian tugas.Penerapan sistem otomasi perpustakaan membutuhkan OPAC, yaitumedia onlinepenyimpanandan penelusuran koleksi, maka dari itu OPAC harus bisa bekerja dengan efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas OPAC di Perpustakaan Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, perpustakaan perguruan tinggi dengan sistem otomasi bernama LAser (Library Automation Service). Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis data statistika deskriptif. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 233 orang pengguna Perpustakaan UMM. Data penelitian didapatkan dari hasil penyebaran kuisioner sebagai instrumen utama pengumpulan data dan akan diuji keandalannya melalui IBM SPPS Statistics 24 for Windows. Variabel penelitian ini adalah variabel tunggal Efektivitas OPAC dengan indikator penilaian: Kualitas Sistem, Kualitas Informasi, Penggunaan, Kepuasan Pengguna, Dampak Individu, dan Dampak Organisasi. Efektivitas OPAC diketahui melalui analisis perhitungan skor kuisioner. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa Kualitas Sistem memperoleh nilai efektivitas sebesar 4.09 yang berarti efektif. Kualitas Informasi memperoleh nilai efektivitas sebesar 3,94 yang berarti efektif. Penggunaan memperoleh nilai efektivitas sebesar 4,16 yang berarti efektif. Kepuasan Pengguna memperoleh nilai efektivitas sebesar 3,92 yang berarti efektif. Dampak Individu memperoleh nilai efektivitas sebesar 3,49 yang berarti efektif. Dampak Organisasi memperoleh nilai efektivitas sebesar 3,74 yang berarti efektif. Sedangkan secara keseluruhan OPAC Perpustakaan UMM memperoleh nilai efektivitas sebesar 3,89 dengan prosentase sebesar 77% yang berarti efektif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa, OPAC Perpustakaan UMM memiliki kualitas sistem dan kualitas informasi yang dapat diandalkan. OPAC juga merespon kebutuhan informasi penggunanya secara cepat, tepat, dan relevan. Pengguna perpustakaan merasa puas dalam menggunakan OPAC. OPAC merupakan sarana temu kembali inormasi utama di perpustakaan. Semakin baik kinerja OPAC, semakin baik pula respon dari pengguna maka semakin baik pula dampaknya bagi citra organisasinya. Untuk itu, menjaga efektivitas OPAC perlu diprioritaskan dengan rutin mengadakan evaluasi dan pemeliharaan sistem.
English Abstract
Library is a place where various information is being collected, saved, taken care of, processed and then being served without intention for profit. In information era, information necessity is increasing thus information overflow can not be avoid. To over came the problem, libraries started using automation-based system which is enabling libraries to carryout services and finishing their job by the help of IT. Automation system needs OPAC, which is an online media to save and browse collection in a library. That’s why the effectiveness of OPAC is really important. The puspose of this research is to describethe effectiveness of OPAC in Central Library of Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, an university librarywho has automation system called LAser (Library Automation Service). This research useddescriptive quantitative method with descriptive statistic data analysis. The sample of this research are 233 library users. Research data was obtained from the result of questionare distribution as the main data collection technique which was tested for the validity and realibility by IBM SPSS Statistics 24 for Windows. The variable in this research was a single variable which was The Effectiveness of OPAC. The measurement indicators for the effectiveness of OPAC were System Quality, Information Quality, Uses, User Satisfaction, Individual Impact, and Organizational Impact. The effectiveness of OPAC was obtained by analyzing the calculation of questioner score. The result of this research showed that System Quality got 4.09 as the effectiveness value which means effective. Information Quality got 3.94 as the effectiveness value which means effective. Uses got 4.16 as the effectiveness value which means effective. User Satisfaction got 3.92 as the effectiveness value which means effective. Individual Impact got 3,49 as the effectiveness value which means effective. And Organizational Impact got 3,74 as the effectiveness value which means effective. The Effectiveness of OPAC in general got 3,89 and 77% as the percentage of effectiveness value which means effective.Based on the result, it can be conclude that OPAC in Perpustakaan UMM has system quality and information quality that can be rely-on. OPAC also gives quick, precise, and relevant respond for users’ information needs. Library users are satisfied to use OPAC. OPAC is the main tool as information retrieval media in an automated library. The better the performance of OPAC, the better the respond from library users.The better respond from library users, the better as well the library image. So to keep the effectiveness of OPAC, the library needs to organize routine system evaluation and system maintenance.
