Abstract

Penurunan fungsi fisik pada lansia seperti muskuloskeletal, kardiovaskular, dan neurologi serta faktor kondisi lingkungan yang tidak memadai menyebabkan lansia lebih berisiko untuk mengalami jatuh. Jatuh pada lansia dapat menimbulkan berbagai kerusakan fisik seperti patah tulang panggul, patah tulang pergelangan tangan, lengan atas dan kerusakan jaringan lunak serta menimbulkan dampak psikologis seperti ansietas, hilangnya rasa percaya diri dan falafobia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kondisi lingkungan dengan risiko jatuh pada lansia di RW 07 Kelurahan Tulusrejo, Kecamatan Lowokwaru, Kota Malang. Desain penelitian yang di gunakan adalah korelasional dengan uji korelasi pearson dengan populasi lansia yang tinggal di RW 07 Kelurahan Tulusrejo, Kecamatan Lowokwaru, Kota Malang. Teknik sampling menggunakan simple random sampling dengan jumlah sebanyak sampel 79 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan variabel kondisi lingkungan dan risiko jatuh memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dengan p value 0,000. Nilai koefisien korelasi nilai r sebesar 0,820 dengan kekuatan korelasi sangat kuat (>0,75) dan terdapat hubungan positif, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa lingkungan yang tidak aman dapat menyebabkan risiko jatuh pada lansia menjadi lebih tinggi.

English Abstract

Decreased physical function in elderly such as musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, neurology and inadequate environmental conditions cause the elderly to be more at risk for falling. Falling in the elderly can cause various physical damage such as hip fractures, broken wrists, upper arms and soft tissue damage, also psychological effects such as anxiety, loss of confidence, and phalaphobia. The purpose of this study is to determine the correlation between environmental conditions and the risk for falling in the elderly at RW 07 Tulusrejo Sub-district, Lowokwaru, Malang. The research design used correlational design with Pearson correlation test toward elderly population living at RW 07 Tulusrejo Sub-district, Lowokwaru, Malang City. The sampling technique used simple random sampling with the sample number of 79 respondents. The results showed that the environmental condition and fall risk variables had significant relationship with p value 0,000. The correlation coefficient value of r value of 0.820 with a very strong correlation strength (> 0.75) and there is a positive relationship. Therefore, it can be concluded that the unsafe environment can increase the risk of falling in the elderly.
