Abstract
Depresi pada lansia berdampak pada kondisi fisik, psikologis, sosial dan kualitas hidup lansia dalam menjalani kehidupan sehari-hari. Dukungan sosial teman sebaya memiliki peran penting bagi lansia yang hidup di panti werdha untuk membantu lansia dalam menyelesaikan masalah yang dihadapi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan dukungan sosial teman sebaya dengan tingkat depresi pada lansia. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain analisis korelasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling yang sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi. Sampel penelitian adalah lansia depresi di UPT Pelayanan Sosial Tresna Werdha Pasuruan berjumlah 52 orang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner GDS 15 (Geriatric Depression Scales-15) untuk mengukur tingkat depresi lansia dan BSSS (Berlin Social Support Scales) untuk mengukur dukungan sosial teman sebaya. Analisa data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan korelasi spearman rank. Hasil analisis data diperoleh nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar -0,682 dengan p value sebesar 0,000. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan dengan kriteria kekuatan koefisien korelasi kuat dan mempunyai arah negatif, yang artinya semakin tinggi dukungan sosial teman sebaya maka tingkat depresi pada lansia semakin rendah atau sebaliknya jika dukungan sosial teman sebaya rendah maka tingkat depresi pada lansia tinggi. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menambah pengetahuan bagi lansia untuk lebih memberikan dukungan sosial yang tepat kepada sesama lansia, serta bagi petugas panti untuk lebih memperhatikan lansia yang mengalami depresi.
English Abstract
Depression in the elderly can affect the physical, psychological, social and quality of life of the elderly in daily life. Peer social support has an important role for elderly who live in the nursing home to help the elderly in problem solving. The study aims to determine the relationship of peer social support with depression level in the elderly. This study uses correlational analysis design with cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique appropriate to the inclusion criteria. Samples were elderly depression in UPT Pelayanan Sosial Tresna Werdha Pasuruan were 52 people. Each participant completed two questionnaire: GDS 15 (Geriatric Depression Scales 15) questionnaire to measure the level of depression in elderly and BSSS (Berlin Social Support Scales) to measure of peer social support. Data analysis used in this study is by using spearman rank correlation. The results of data analysis obtained correlation coefficient value of -0.682 with p value of 0.000. In conclusion, there is a relationship with criteria correlations is strong and has a negative direction, which means the lower peer social support then the depression level is getting high, or the opposite. The result of these studies are expected to increase knowledge for the elderly to provide more appopriate social support among fellow elderly, and for nurses in a nursing home to give more attention to elderly who are depressed.
