Abstract
Catharanthus roseus dan Vitex trifolia merupakan tanaman yang memiliki aktivitas dalam menurunkan radikal bebas yang sangat baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidatif ekstrak metanol daun C. roseus, V. trifolia, dan campurannya. Tahapan dalam dalam pengujian aktivitas antioksidatif adalah melakukan ekstraksi, kemudian uji fitokimia, penentuan kandungan total flavonoid dan total fenolik. dan pengujian aktivitas antioksidatifnya terhadap radikal DPPH. Hasil penentuan kandungan flavonoid pada ekstrak metanol daun C. roseus 117 mg QE/g, ekstrak metanol V. trifolia 82 mg QE/g, dan ekstrak campuran 152,500 mg QE/g. Sedangkan kandungan fenolik total dari ekstrak C. roseus sebesar 199,054 mg GA/g, ekstrak V. trifolia 184, 3026 mg GA/g, dan ekstrak campuran sebesar 338,5343 mg GA/g. Kekuatan antioksidatif ditunjukkan dengan nilai IC50. Nilai IC50 untuk ketiga ekstrak lebih kuat dibanding dengan asam askorbat (IC50 1,80 ppm). IC50 ekstrak tapak dara 0,33 ppm, legundi 0,12 ppm dan ekstrak campuran 0,13 ppm.
English Abstract
Catharanthus roseus and Vitex trifolia are native plants with a potency for reducing of free radicals exposure. This research is disclosed recent investigation for the antioxidative the methanol extracts from the leaves of C. roseus, V. trifolia, and its mixture. The stages involved extraction, phytochemical evaluation, measurement of flavonoid and phenolic content in the extract. Then, antioxidative test was undertaken using DPPH method. The results showed that the flavonoid content in the methanol extract from C. roseus leaves was 117 mg QE/g, from V. trifolia was 82 mg QE/g, and from its mixture was detected in 152.500 mg QE/g. Meanwhile, the phenolic content in the methanol extract of C. roseus, V. trifolia, and mixture was 199.054 mg GA/g, 184.3026 mg GA/g, and 338.5343 mg GA/g, respectively. Lastly, the antioxidative activity for the extracts showed a better result than that of ascorbic acid as reference (IC50 1.80 ppm).
