Hanifah, Novi (2018) Pengaruh Penambahan Konsentrasi Konsorsium Bakteri Pada Proses Pengolahan Air Lindi Dengan Metode Constructed Wetland Menggunakan Vegetasi Cyperus Papyrus. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
The existence of a final waste processing site has a very important function that is as the final processing of waste, both of which will be recycled as compost or only stockpiled after being sorted by scavengers. The decomposition process will convert waste into organic fertilizer and produce a by-product, namely leachate. Generally, leachate consists of heavy metals, organic and inorganic compounds such as ammonia, sulfate and cationic metals (Christsen et al., 2002 dalam Yalcuk et al., 2009). Leachate can contaminate surface water and underground water because it generally contains BOD with values around 2.000- 30.000 mg/L and COD with values around 3.000-60.000 mg/L. Constructed wetland is an alternative of wastewater treatment before being discharged into the receiving water body. Constructed Wetland as wastewater treatment utilizes microorganisms in soil and plants in the area. In this system processing activities occur such as sedimentation, filtration, gas transfer, adsorption, chemical processing and biological processing because of the activity of microorganisms in the soil and plant activities for photosynthesis, oxidation and plant uptake (Metcalf & Eddy, 1990). Consortium bacteria are a group of microorganisms that are capable of carrying out the metabolic processes of organic matter so that they are the most important part of the food chain and wastewater treatment. The study of thexi effect of the concentration of addition of a bacterial consortium with variations in the addition of 0 ml, 5 ml and 10 ml in the process of leachate treatment using constructed wetland using Cyperus capyrus vegetation by taking BOD, COD and N-total parameters. The results were obtained, the BOD parameter was successfully reduced by the removal efficiency of 25.57%, COD with the removal efficiency of 29.02% and Nitrogen with the removal efficiency of 95.90%
