Abstract

Modifikasi struktur senyawa 2,6-dimetil-1,4-benzokuinon dan 2-metil-1,4,benzokuinon dengan penambahan gugus bromoalkil (C5) bertujuan untuk meningkatkan lipofilisitas. Reaksi bromoalkilasi 2,6-dimetil-1,4-benzokuinon dan 2-metil-1,4-benzokuinon dilakukan dengan cara refluks selama 2 jam pada suhu 900C dengan katalis AgNO3 menggunakan pelarut asetonitril : air menghasilkan produk 2-(5-bromoamil)-3,5-dimetil-1,4-benzokuinon (C5-DBQ) dan 2-(5-bromoamil)-5-metil-1,4-benzokuinon (C5-MBQ) dengan yield sebesar 13,75% dan 4,04%. Hasil analisis dengan spektrofotometer UV-Vis menunjukkan pergeseran panjang gelombang batokromik. Spektrum FT-IR menunjukkan adanya ikatan C-Br pada daerah 686,61 cm-1 serta adanya peningkatan intensitas C-H sp3 pada daerah 2970-2925 cm-1. Uji kelarutan produk alkilasi C5-DBQ dan C5-MBQ menunjukkan nilai koefisien partisi masing-masing sebesar 2,99 dan 1,36. Nilai koefisien partisi C5-DBQ lebih besar dari nilai koefisien partisi timokuinon (logP = 2,37), sedangkan C5-MBQ memiliki koefisien partisi lebih kecil dari nilai koefisien partisi timokuinon.

English Abstract

Modification structure of 2,6-dimethyl-1,4-benzinquinone and 2-methyl-1,4,-benzoquinone was carried out by substitution of bromoalkyl (C5) to increase the lipophilicity of these compounds. The bromoalkylation reaction of 2,6-dimethyl-1,4-benzoquinone and 2-methyl-1,4-benzoquinone was performed by reflux for 2 hours at 900C with AgNO3 as catalyst using acetonitrile/water and gave 2-(5-bromoamyl)-3,5-dimethyl-1,4-benzoquinone (C5-DBQ) and 2-(5-bromoamyl)-5-methyl-1,4-benzoquinone (C5-MBQ) at 13.75% and 4.04%, respectively. The UV-Vis analysis showed the batochromic shift. The FT-IR spectrum showed C-Br stretching in 686.61 cm-1 and the increasing intensity of CH sp3 at 2970-2925cm-1 due to the addition of alkyl groups. The solubility test of C5-DBQ and C5 -MBQ showed the partition coefficient values (logP) is 2.99 and 1.36, respectively. The logP of C5-DBQ is greater than thymoquinon that is 2.37. However, the C5-MBQ have partition coefficients smaller than timoquinon.
