Abstract
Kompensasi berbasis kinerja, motivasi kerja karyawan, dan kepuasan kerja karyawan memiliki peranan penting untuk peningkatan kinerja karyawan. Penelitian ini bertujuan: 1) Menganalisis dan menjelaskan pengaruh kompensasi berbasis kinerja terhadap motivasi kerja karyawan, kepuasan kerja karyawan dan kinerja karyawan, 2) Pengaruh motivasi kerja karyawan terhadap kepuasan kerja karyawan serta pengaruh motivasi kerja karyawan dan kepuasan kerja karyawan terhadap kinerja karyawan, 3) Peran motivasi kerja karyawan dalam memediasi pengaruh kompensasi berbasis kinerja terhadap kinerja karyawan, peran kepuasan kerja karyawan dalam memediasi pengaruh kompensasi berbasis kinerja terhadap kinerja karyawan, serta peran kepuasan kerja karyawan dalam memediasi pengaruh motivasi kerja karyawan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan pengumpulan data dengan metode sempel sebanyak 211 diambil dari jumlah populasi. Populasinya adalah seluruh karyawan administrasi di Universitas Swasta di Provinsi Bali yang berjumlah 467 orang dengan kriteria masa kerja minimal 3 tahun. Analisis data penelitian menggunakan Partial Least Square (PLS). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 1) Kompensasi berbasis kinerja berpengaruh positif signifikan secara tidak langsung terhadap kinerja karyawan melalui motivasi kerja dan kepuasan kerja karyawan, 2) motivasi kerja karyawan berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap kepuasan kerja karyawan dan motivasi kerja serta kepuasan kerja berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan, 3) Motivasi kerja karyawan memediasi sebagian (partial mediation) pengaruh kompensasi berbasis kinerja terhadap kinerja karyawan, kepuasan kerja karyawan memediasi sempurna (complete mediation) pengaruh kompensasi berbasis kinerja terhadap kinerja karyawan, kepuasan kerja karyawan memediasi sebagian (partial mediation) pengaruh motivasi kerja karyawan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi kompensasi berbasis kinerja berdampak terhadap kepuasan kerja karyawan, motivasi kerja karyawan sehingga dapat meningkatkan kinerja karyawan
English Abstract
Performance-based compensation, work motivation, and work satisfaction are essential in improving employee performance. The objectives of this study are to analyze 1) the influence of performance-based compensation on work motivation, work satisfaction, and employee performance, 2) the influence of work motivation on work satisfaction and the influence of work motivation and work satisfaction on employee performance, and 3) the mediating role of work motivation in the influence of performance-based compensation on employee performance, the mediating role of work satisfaction in the influence of performance-based compensation on employee performance, also the role mediation of work satisfaction in the influence of work motivation of employee on employee performance. This study uses quantitative approach. From the population of all 467 administration employees working in the service sector of private university in the province of Bali, 211 people with at least three years of service are selected as the sample. The data of this study are analyzed using Partial Least Square (PLS). The results of this study show that 1) performance-based compensation indirectly has a positive and significant influence on employee performance through work motivation and satisfaction, 2) work motivation positively and significantly influences employee performance, and work motivation and satisfaction positively and significantly influence employee performance, and 3) work motivation partially mediates the influence of performance-based compensation on employee performance, work satisfaction completely mediates the influence of performance-based compensation on employee performance, also work satisfaction of employee partially mediates the influence of work motivation of the employee on employee performance. These findings imply that higher performance-based compensation improves work satisfaction and motivation, so employee performance increases.
