Abstract
Surabaya as city economies that are moving rapidly, lodging accommodations needed to support and facilitate business activity. High competitions among hotel in Surabaya demanding facade design creations are characterized as the image of the hotel to attract visitors. Application of prefabricated concrete material on the facade needed in response to the facade customizable technology, practical, and efficient. This study resulted in the design of the facade of a business hotel in Surabaya with the application of prefabricated concrete material to get the character design as the identity of the building. This study used a descriptive approach to identify the object design with pragmatic design method through completion of trial and error. The results of this study is design of building facade business hotel in Surabaya reflects local character with a stylized symbol of the area (Sura and Buaya) as well as the implementation Ngremo dance which aims to give the building character display to attract potential visitors. Exploration on the facade elements form the texture and rhythm that produces five different types of panels. The difference between each panel lies in the cross-sectional area of the window. Character building is supported by the view shared balcony on each floor as the advantages offered by the facility and the aesthetic aspect of the building. On the facade there are two types of panel podium different rhythm game on the vertical sun shading take Ngremo dancer foot movement to create a dynamic impression. Facade panels using materials Ultra High Performance Cement (UHPC) with the size of each panel to adjust the size of the frame as a frame structure that is 3x4 meters. Be concealed anchor fastening system (not shown) with the nuts and bolts bonding. The panel has a physical endurance in the form of thermal insulation systems, energy efficiency, and earthquake resistance. Finishing white facade with it water resistant and heat resistant.
