Abstract
Obesitas adalah penyakit metabolis kronis yang prevalensinya terus meningkat di dunia, terutama Indonesia. Obesitas terbukti menjadi faktor resiko tinggi terhadap kejadian diabetes dan penyakit kardiovaskular. Ubi Ungu (Ipomoea batatas L.) atau sweet potato memiliki kandungan senyawa antosianin. Antosianin merupakan pigmen ungu (IbMYB1 dan IbMYB2) yang memiliki potensi dalam scavenging ROS (Reactive Oxygen Species), menurunkan NPY (Neuropeptide Y), C/EBPα dan PPARү. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui potensi ekstrak antosianin ubi ungu (Ipomoea batatas L) kultivar Gunung Kawi dapat menghambat peningkatan BMI (Body Mass Index) dan intake pakan pada zebrafish dengan DIO (Diet Induced Obesity). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental laboratoris. Sampel yang digunakan adalah zebrafish Danio rerio 8 mpf (months post-fertilization) yang dibagi lima kelompok, yaitu Kontrol negatif (tidak dipapar ekstrak antosianin), Kontrol positif (dengan pakan Diet Induced Obesity (DIO)), DIO A (DIO + 80 ppm), DIO B (DIO + 120 ppm), dan DIO C (DIO + 160 ppm). Pada hasil dan kesimpulan penelitian, antosianin pada dosis tersebut tidak dapat mempengaruhi intake pakan dan BMI pada zebrafish dengan DIO.
English Abstract
Obesity is a chronic metabolic disease that the prevalence is always increasing in the world, especially in Indonesia. Obesity proved to be high risk factors on the incidence of diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Purple sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) or sweet potato contains anthocyanin compounds. Anthocyanin is a purple pigment (IbMYB1 and IbMYB2) which have potential in scavenging ROS (Reactive Oxygen Species), lowers NPY (Neuropeptide Y), C/EBPα, and PPARү. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential of anthocyanin extract of purple sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L) Gunung Kawi cultivar can inhibit the increasing of BMI (Body Mass Index) and food intake in zebrafish with DIO (Diet Induced Obesity). This research was conducted with laboratory experimental method. The sample used is the zebrafish Danio rerio 8 mpf (months post-fertilization) were divided five groups, the negative control (not being exposed to extract anthocyanin), positive control (with feed Diet Induced Obesity (DIO)), DIO A (DIO + 80 ppm ), B DIO (DIO + 120 ppm), and C DIO (DIO + 160 ppm). The results and conclusions of the study, anthocyanin cannot affect food intake and BMI in zebrafish with DIO.
