Abstract
Anak tunarungu adalah anak yang mengalami hambatan atau keterbatasan sebagian maupun seluruh fungsi pada indera pendengarannya. Pada anak tunarungu resiko terkena masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut lebih tinggi dibandingkan pada anak normal yang disebabkan oleh keterbatasannya dalam menangkap informasi akibat gangguan fungsi pendengaran sehingga menyebabkan terbatasnya sarana informasi yang memungkinkan anak untuk mengetahui bagaimana cara mencegah penyakit gigi dan mulut. Untuk itu dibutuhkan media informasi yang sesuai dengan kondisi anak tunarungu. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan pening¬katan pengetahuan kesehatan gigi dan mulut pada penderita tunarungu yang menggunakan media pembelajaran poster dan flipchart. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pre-experimental, menggunakan metode penelitian one group pretest-postest. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SDLB-B YPTB Malang Tahun 2014 yang berjumlah 37 siswa. Sampel berjumlah 35 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner. Berdasarkan hasil uji t berpasangan diketahui bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna antara nilai pre-test dan post-test pada masing-masing kelompok yaitu kelompok media poster (p=0,001) dan media flipchart (p=0,426), yang artinya terdapat perbedaan peningkatan pengetahuan kesehatan gigi dan mulut pada siswa tunarungu antara post-test kelompok media poster dengan kelompok flip chart. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah ada perbedaan peningkatan pengetahuan kesehatan gigi dan mulut antara mengguna¬kan media poster dan flipchart.
English Abstract
Deaf children are children who have barriers or limitations of part or all of the hearing functions. The children who have hearing impairment have a higher risk of oral health problem than normal children caused by the limitation of accepting information that allows the child to know how to prevent oral disease. Therefore, it needs to take information media in accordance with the conditions of deaf children. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there are differences of improvement in getting oral health knowledge between using the posters and flipcharts media. This research is pre-experimental, usingone group pretest-posttest. The population in this study is 37 students of SDLB-B YPTB Malang 2014. The sample is 35 students. The instrument used is a questionnaire. Based on the results of paired t test is known that there is a significant difference between pre-test and post-test grade in each group which are posters media group (p = 0.001) and flipchart media (p = 0.426), which means that there are differences in improvement of oral health knowledge of the deaf students between post-test of poster media group and flipchart media group. The conclusion of this study is there are differences in improvement of oral health knowledge between using poster media and flipchart media.
