Abstract
Senam kaki adalah kegiatan atau latihan yang dilakukan oleh pasien diabetes mellitus untuk mencegah terjadinya luka dan membantu memperlancar peredaran darah bagian kaki. Latihan fisik ini merupakan salah satu bagian dari lima pilar penatalaksanaan diabetes mellitus. Penyampaiannya dalam pendidikan kesehatan diperlukan untuk menunjang upaya pasien diabetes mellitus dalam mencegah komplikasi dan kecacatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendidikan kesehatan senam kaki terhadap keterampilan senam kaki pada pasien diabetes mellitus di Rumah Sakit Tentara Malang. Desain penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pra eksperimental dengan menggunakan pendekatan one group pretest-posttest. Jumlah sampel yang didapatkan sebanyak 22 pasien diabetes mellitus di Rumah Sakit Tentara Malang, yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik consecutive sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi yang berisi langkah-langkah senam kaki diabetes mellitus. Hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan uji statistik Paired T-Test. Dengan uji statistic tersebut didapatkan hasil analisa yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan keterampilan sebelum dan setelah pemberian pendidikan kesehatan senam kaki pada pasien diabetes mellitus (p value 0,00), ditunjukkan dengan perbedaan rata-rata keterampilan dari 0,32 menjadi 5,50. Artinya H1 diterima, dengan kata lain pendidikan kesehatan berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan pasien diabetes mellitus dalam melakukan senam kaki. Diharapkan dengan adanya hasil penelitian ini petugas kesehatan dapat memberikan pendidikan kesehatan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan senam kaki pada pasien diabetes mellitus.
English Abstract
Foot exercises is an activity or exercise performed by patients with diabetes mellitus to prevent injury and helps accelerate blood circulation of the foot. This physical exercise is one part of the five pillars of the management of diabetes mellitus. The delivery of health education is needed to support the efforts of diabetes mellitus patients in preventing complications and disability. This research aimed to determine the effect of health education about foot exercise towards foot exercise skills in patients with diabetes in the Army Hospital in Malang. The research design used in this research was a pra experimental by using the approach of one group pretest-posttest. The numbers of samples obtained were 22 patients with diabetes mellitus in Army Hospital Malang that was chosen by using consecutive sampling technique. The data collected by using the observation sheet that contains the steps of diabetes mellitus foot exercises. The results were analyzed by statistical test, Paired T-Test. By this statistical test obtained the analyzed result which showed that there are differences in skills before and after the administration of health education about foot exercises in patients with diabetes mellitus (p value 0,00), shown with the differences of the skill average from 0.32 to 5.50. It means that H1 was accepted, in other words there was effect of health education to the skills of foot exercises in patients with diabetes mellitus. Hopefully, by the results of this research the health workers could provide health education to improve the skills of foot exercise in patients with diabetes mellitus.
