Abstract
Penyuluhan merupakan salah satu upaya dalam meningkatkan kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Penyuluhan kesehatan gigi dan mulut dapat dilakukan dengan berbagai media, salah satunya dengan media animasi.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan efektivitas penyuluhan kesehatan gigi dan mulut menggunakan animasi terhadap peningkatan kebersihan mulut berdasarkan indeks debris pada siswa kelas 4Sekolah Dasar Negeri Kotalama I Malang. Sampel yang digunakan adalah siswa kelas 4 yang dipilih dengan cara judgement sampling untuk dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok yang diberi penyuluhan menggunakan animasi dan kelompok yang tidak diberi penyuluhanmenggunakan animasi. Variabel yang diukur dalam penelitian ini adalah tingkat kebersihan mulut berdasarkan indeks debris. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan indeks debris sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan pada kelompok yang diberi penyuluhan menggunakan animasi (paired t-test, p < 0,05). Tetapi pada kelompok yang tidak diberi penyuluhan menggunakan animasi menunjukkan tidak adanya perbedaanyang signifikan (paired t-test, p > 0,05) antaraindeks debris awal dan akhir. Hasil independent t-test dari penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya perbedaan kebersihan mulut yang signifikan antara kelompok yang diberi penyuluhan menggunakan animasi dan kelompok yang tidak diberi penyuluhanmenggunakan animasi. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa metode penyuluhan menggunakan animasi efektif dalam meningkatkan kebersihan mulut pada siswa kelas 4 Sekolah Dasar Negeri Kotalama I Malang. Disarankan bagi petugas kesehatan yang berperan sebagai penyuluh, sebaiknya menggunakan media animasi dalam melakukan penyuluhan kesehatan gigi dan mulut agar lebih efektif
English Abstract
Dental and oral health counseling is one of the efforts in improving oral health. Dental and oral health counseling can be done with many kinds of media, one of them is animation. This study aims to prove the effectiveness of oral health counseling using animation to increase oral hygiene based on debris index in fourth gradestudents of SDN Kotalama I Malang. Used sample is fourth grade students which selected by judgment sampling to be divided into two groups, there are the group who get counseling and the group who did not receive counseling using animation. The variable measured in this study is the level of oral hygiene based on debris index. The results showed that there is a difference of debris index before and after dental oral health counseling in the group who get counseling using animation (paired t-test, p < 0,05). But in the group who did not receive education using animation showed no significant difference (paired t-test , p > 0,05) between the first and the last debris index. Independent t-test result of this study showed a significant difference in oral hygiene between the group who get counseling using animation and the group who did not receive counseling using animation. This proves that the dental and oral health counseling method using animation is effective in improving oral hygiene in fourth grade students of SDN Kotalama I Malang. It is recommended for health care workers who serve as instructors, we recommend using animation in dental and oral health counseling to be more effective.
