Abstract
Kesehatan merupakan bagian terpenting dalam kehidupan manusia. Kesehatan yang perlu diperhatikan selain kesehatan tubuh secara umum, juga kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Dalam meningkatkan kesehatan gigi dan mulut salah satunya perlu dilakukan penyuluhan kebersihan gigi dan mulut sejak dini. Usia sekolah dasar merupakan saat ideal untuk melatih kemampuan motorik seorang anak, termasuk menyikat gigi. Penyuluhan mengenai cara menyikat gigi bagi anak-anak sebaiknya menggunakan model dan dengan teknik sederhana; disampaikan dengan cara menarik dan atraktif tanpa mengurangi isi. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui efektivitas penyuluhan dengan media poster dan phantom terhadap pengetahuan teknik menyikat gigi siswa kelas 3 SDN Blimbing 3 Malang. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional. Pengambilan sampel dengan teknik total sampling yang berjumlah 84 siswa. Masing-masing kelompok dibandingkan antara pre-test dan post-test dengan menggunakan kuesioner, kemudian hasil post-test poster dibandingkan dengan phantom. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan kesehatan gigi dan mulut siswa sesudah penyuluhan dengan media poster maupun phantom meningkat (Wilcoxon, p<α). Selain itu, pengetahuan teknik menyikat gigi siswa kelas 3 setelah diberikan penyuluhan dengan media phantom lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan media poster (Mann-Whitney p<α). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penyuluhan dengan media phantom lebih efektif dari pada media poster.
English Abstract
Health is the most important part of human life. Not only general health, but dental and oral health is also important. To increase dental and oral health, we have to do counseling oral hygiene from an early age. Elementary school age is the ideal age for motor skills in child, including tooth brushing. Counseling about tooth brushing technique for children should use model with a simple technique; interesting and attractive without reducing the content. The aim of this study is to determine effectiveness counseling dental and oral health education using poster and phantom in third grade students of SDN Blimbing 3 Malang. This study used Cross Sectional approach. This study used a total sampling which is 84 students. Each group was compared between pre-test and post-test with questionnaire and the results between phantom group and poster group was also compared. The results showed that the dental and oral health knowledge of students after counseling with poster and phantom media increased (Wilcoxon, p <α). Moreover, knowledge of tooth brushing technique third grade students after counseling using phantom is higher than using poster (Mann-Whitney p<α). It can be concluded that counseling using phantom is more effective than poster.
