Abstract
Paparan asap rokok yang terjadi terus menerus akan menyebabkan inflamasi pada saluran nafas. Tepung daun ubi jalar ungu (DUJU) yang mengandung polifenol sebagai antioksidan dapat digunakan untuk menghambat proses peradangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan pengaruh tepung daun ubi jalar ungu terhadap jumlah sel radang akut di alveoli paru tikus galur Wistar (Rattus Novergicus) yang dipapar asap rokok. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode Post Test Only Control Group selama 30 hari. Kelompok penelitian terdiri dari kelompok K (-) (Diet normal), K (+) (Diet normal + paparan asap rokok), P1 (Diet normal + paparan asap rokok + tepung DUJU 0,07 g), P2 (Diet normal + paparan asap rokok + tepung DUJU 0,14 mg) dan P3 (Diet normal + paparan asap rokok + tepung DUJU 0,28 g). Variabel yang diukur adalah jumlah sel radang akut di alveoli. Analisa data menggunakan Oneway ANOVA dilanjutkan dengan Uji Post Hoc. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penambahan tepung daun ubi jalar ungu dengan dosis III (0,28) g pada kelompok tikus dengan dipapar asap rokok dan diberi daun ubi jalar ungu memberikan pengaruh terbaik bagi jumlah sel radang akut (17,3± 0,535) sebab mendekati kelompok kontrol positif (15,4± 0,178).
English Abstract
Exposure to cigarette smoke continuously will cause an inflammatory response in the respiratory tract. Purple sweet potato leaves (PSPL) powder is contain pholyfenol as an antioxidant that can be used to inhibit this inflammation. The aim of is this study is to determine the correlation between purple sweet potato leaves powder and the amount of inflammatory cells in the alveoli of Rattus novergicus Wistar strain by exposure of cigarette smoke. The method research was Post Test Only Control Group for 30 days. The study group was K (-) (normal diet), K (+) (normal diet + exposured cigarette smoke), P1 (normal diet + exposured cigarette smoke PSPL powder + 0,07 g), P2 (normal diet + exposured cigarette smoke PSPL powder + 0,14 g) and P3 (normal diet + exposured cigarette smoke PSPL powder + 0,28 g). The measured variable was the total of acute inflammatory cells in alveoli. Data were processed and analyzed using Oneway ANOVA and Post Hoc Tuckey after it. Results of this study indicate that addition of purple sweet potato leaves powder with doses III (0,28 g) gave best effect to the total of acute inflammatory cells (17,3 ± 0,535) because approach control positive group (15,4 ± 0,178).
