Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh pelaksanaan reward dan punishment yang telah berlaku di PT. Panin Bank Tbk. Area Mikro Jombang, apakah dapat memacu motivasi kerja karyawan serta kinerja karyawan. Pada PT. Panin Bank Tbk. Area Mikro Jombang diindikasi mengalami penurunan motivasi kerja karyawan dan kinerja karyawan yang ditunjukkan dengan pertumbuhan yang kurang baik dari segi pencapaian target tahun 2012-2013. Pada dasarnya reward dan punishment digunakan untuk memotivasi karyawan supaya kinerja karyawan dapat berjalan secara maksimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pengaruh variabel reward (X1), punishment (X2) secara parsial terhadap motivasi kerja karyawan (Y1) serta pengaruh reward (X1), punishment (X2), motivasi kerja karyawan (Y1) secara parsial terhadap kinerja aryawan (Y2). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode explanatory research dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel dari penelitian ini sebanyak 47 karyawan PT. Panin Bank Tbk. Area Mikro Jombang. Instrument penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuesioner dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif dan analisis jalur (Path Analysis) menggunakan aplikasi software SPSS 20.0 for Windows. Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa penerapan reward (X1), punishment (X2), motivasi kerja karyawan (Y1) dan kinerja karyawan (Y2) sudah baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian secara parsial reward (X1), berpengaruh signifikan terhadap motivasi kerja karyawan. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari nilai koefisien beta reward sebesar 0,337 dan mendapatkan sig. sebesar 0,024 (sig < 0,05). Sedangkan secara parsial punishment (X2) berpengaruh tidak signifikan terhadap motivasi kerja karyawan. Dimana nilai koefisien beta punishment sebesar 0,147 dengan sig. sebesar 0,313 (sig > 0,05). Secara keseluruhan koefisien determinasi yang dihasilkan reward (X1) dan punishment (X2) terhadap motivasi kerja karyawan (Y1) sebesar 0,163 yang artinya variabel reward dan punishment memberikan kontribusi terhadap motivasi kerja karyawan sebesar 16,3% dan 83,7% dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain diluar penelitian. Secara parsial reward (X1), punishment (X2) dan motivasi kerja karyawan (Y1) berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan (Y2). Hal ini dapat ditunjukkan melalui koefisien beta reward sebesar 0,227 dengan sig. sebesar 0,042 (sig < 0,05). Koefisien beta punishment mendapatkan hasil sebesar 0,210 dengan nilai sig. sebesar 0,047 (sig < 0,05). Koefisien beta motivasi kerja karyawan sebesar 0,561 dan nilai sig. sebesar 0,000 (sig < 0,05). Secara keseluruhan koefisien determinasi yang dihasilkan reward (X1), punishment (X2) dan motivasi kerja karyawan (Y1) terhadap kinerja karyawan (Y2) adalah 0,59 yang artinya variabel reward, punishment, dan motivasi kerja karyawan pada PT. Panin Bank Tbk. Area Mikro Jombang memberikan kontribusi terhadap kinerja karyawan sebesar 59% dan sisanya 41 % dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain diluar penelitian
English Abstract
This research is based on the implementation of reward and punishment that had been being prevailed at PT. Panin Bank Tbk. Jombang Micro Area, whether they can spur the employees performance and motivation to work. Panin Bank Tbk. Jombang Micro Area is being indicated of it's declining motivation and working performance of the employees. It’s shown by a less growth in terms of achievement on target in 2012-2013. Reward and punishment are basically used to motivate the employees so they can achieve maximum performance. This research aims to examine the influence of variables Reward (X1) and punishment (X2) partially on Work motivation (Y1), and explains the influence of reward (X1), punishment (X2), work motivation (Y1) partially to employeess performance (Y2). This research is an explanatory research that use a quantitative approaching method. This research used 47 employees of Panin Bank Tbk. Jombang Micro Area as research sample. The research instruments used in this study are a questionnaire and documentations. The data analysis of this research used descriptive analysis and path analysis and using software SPSS 20.0 application for Windows. The result of descriptive analysis shows that the reward (X1), punishment (X2), work motivation (Y1) and employees performance (Y2) are well perceived by the employees. Analysis of this research reveals that partially reward (X1) gives significant effect to the work motivation. It can be seen from the beta coefficient of reward is 0,337, and the value of signification is 0,024 (sig < 0,05). Partially punishment (X2) gives no significant effect to the work motivation. While the beta coefficient of punishment is 0,147 and the value of signification is 0,313 (sig > 0,05). Collectively, the determination coefficient of the result of reward (X1) and punishment (X2) on work motivation (Y1) is 0.163 which means the variable reward and punishment contributes to work motivation, 16.3%, and the remaining is 83,7% influenced by other variables. Partially reward (X1), punishment (X2) and work motivation (Y1) have effect significantly on the employee performance (Y2). It can be seen from the value of the beta coefficient of reward is 0,227 and the value of signification is 0.042 (sig < 0,05). The beta coefficient of punishment is 0,210 and the value of signification is 0,047 (sig < 0,05). Beta coefficient of the work motivation is 0,561 and the value of signification is 0.000 (sig < 0,05). Collectively, the result of determined coefficient of reward (X1), punishment (X 2) and work motivation (Y1) toward employee performance (Y2) is 0.59 which means the variable reward, punishment and work motivation at Panin Bank Tbk. Jombang Micro Area 59% contributes to the employees performance and the remaining 41% are influenced by other variables are not include in this research.
