Abstract
Penelitian ini merupakan studi sosiolinguistik dengan menggunakan teori Wardhaugh. Tabu berkaitan dengan makna budaya, yang di ekspresikan dalam bahasa. Ini berarti bahwa bahasa digunakan untuk menghindari mengatakan hal tertentu yang dianggap tidak bermoral dan tidak layak untuk hal tertentu. Peneliti tertarik dalam menganalisis kata-kata tabu yang digunakan oleh Suro dan Boyo dalam Video Grammar Suroboyo. Penelitian ini mencoba untuk menjawab pertanyaan-pertanyaan penelitian sebagai berikut: (1) Kata tabu apa yang digunakan dalam “Video Grammar Suroboyo”? (2) Aapa jenis kata tabu yang di ucapkan oleh karakter dalam “Video Grammar Suroboyo”? Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif karena berkaitan dengan deskripsi kata-kata tabu yang oleh Suro dan Boyo dalam Video Grammar Suroboyo, dan jenis kata tabu. karena dalam mendapatkan data dari kata tabu itu difokuskan pada analisis percakapan atau dialog dari karakter dalam video. Pengumpulan data dengan menonton “Video Grammar Suroboyo”. Untuk memperoleh data yang valid, peneliti mendownload “Video Grammar Suroboyo”, mendengarkan dan menonton “Video Grammar Suroboyo” dengan teliti, dan membuat catatan ucapan yang mengandung kata tabu yang ada dalam video. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kata-kata tabu yang di uckapkan dalam video adalah jancok (cok), asu, gatel (guatel), gaplek (guaplek), matane, raimu, matek, siletmu, nelek, fuck you, dan kemudian diklasifikasikan ke dalam beberapa kategori seperti: sex/copulative term (75%), bodily function (10,7%), excretion (7,1%), certain game/animal (2,4%), death (2,4%) and the left hand (2,4%). . Akhirnya, peneliti menyarankan kepada peneliti selanjutnya untuk menganalisis topik yang sama dan lebih dapat mengembangkan penelitian ini dengan menganalisis dari sudut pandang lain karena masih ada kategorisasi yang belum dianalisis yaitu religious matter dan one’s mother in law.
English Abstract
This research is a sociolinguistics study focusing on analyzing the conversation of Suro and Boyo in the “Video Grammar Suroboyo”, by using Wardhaugh’s theory. Taboo is related to the culture meanings, which are expressed in language. It means that language is used to avoid saying certain thing which is considered immoral and improper to the certain thing. The writer condected a study to analyze the taboo words used by Suro and Boyo in the Video Grammar Suroboyo. This study attempts to answer the following research questions: (1) What are the taboo words used in “Video Grammar Suroboyo? (2) What are the types of taboo words uttered by characters in “Video Grammar Suroboyo”? This study is a descriptive qualitative research as it is concerned with the taboo words used by Suro and Boyo in “Video Grammar Suroboyo”. In order to obtain the valid data, the researcher collected the data by downloading the “Video Grammar Suroboyo”. Then the researcher listened and watched the video “Video Grammar Suroboyo” carefully to make it clear and valid data before being analyzed. Last, the researcher took a note of the taboo words expressed by the characters in the video. The result of the study showed that the taboo words found in the video are jancok (cok), asu, gatel (guatel), gaplek (guaplek), matane, raimu, matek, siletmu, nelek, fuck you and then were classified into taboo sex/copulative term (75%), bodily function (10,7%), excretion (7,1%), certain game/animal (2,4%), death (2,4%) and the left hand (2,4%). Finally, the researcher suggests future researchers who analyze the similar topic to develop a study by analyzing taboo expressions from another point of view because there are still many categories that have not been analyzed yet, such as religious matter and the left hand.
