Abstract

Ponsel cerdas (smartphone) adalah telepon genggam yang mempunyai kemampuan dengan pengunaan dan fungsi yang menyerupai komputer. Salah satu kecanggihan teknologi smartphone adalah terdapat fitur wireless, yang mempunyai kemampuan menangkap koneksi jaringan internet melalui jaringan Wi-Fi. Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) memanfaatkan gelombang elektromagnetik dalam proses pengiriman atau penerimaan data. Seiring bertambahnya jumlah user yang terhubung pada satu jaringan Wi-Fi, hal ini mengakibatkan penurunan level daya yang diterima smartphone dan temperatur udara di sekitar meningkat. Pada penelitian ini, dilakukan pengukuran level daya terima smartphone dengan penambahan user hingga 10 perangkat, dan pengukuran temperatur ketika terjadi akses. Terdapat dua pengujian, yaitu pada kondisi indoor dan kondisi outdoor. Wireless router sebagai access point dengan frekuensi 2.4 GHz ditempatkan di dalam kotak uji akrilik yang sudah dibuat dengan dimensi 70 x 70 x 60 cm. Pengambilan data dilakukan sebanyak 2 tahap, yaitu pada menit pertama dan menit kelima setiap penambahan jumlah user. Serta dilakukan pengukuran daya pancar antena wireless router untuk mengetahui kuat medan elektromagnetik. Dari hasil analisis, didapatkan nilai kuat medan elektromagnetik antena wireless router pada kondisi indoor sebesar 5.27⨯10−13 W/m dan pada kondisi outdoor sebesar 1.343⨯10−13W/m. Pengujian pada kondisi indoor terjadi penurunan kualitas level daya terima rata-rata smartphone saat 1 menit sebesar 8.14x10-6 watt dan temperatur meningkat sebesar 0.3 oC, sedangkan saat 5 menit level daya terima rata-rata smartphone menurun sebesar 4.65 x10-6 watt dan temperatur meningkat sebesar 0.5 oC. Pengujian pada kondisi outdoor juga mengalami penurunan kualitas level daya terima rata-rata smartphone selama 1 menit sebesar 3.089x10-6 watt dan temperatur meningkat sebesar 0.2 oC, sedangkan saat 5 menit level daya terima rata-rata smartphone menurun sebesar 2.529x10-6 watt dan temperatur meningkat sebesar 0.3 oC.

English Abstract

Smartphones (smartphones) are mobile phones that have the ability to use and function that resembles a computer. One of the sophistication of smartphone technology is that there is a wireless feature, which has the ability to capture internet network connection via Wi-Fi network. Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) utilizes electromagnetic waves in the process of sending or receiving data. As the number of users connected to a single Wi-Fi network increases, this leads to a decrease in the power levels received by the smartphone and surrounding air temperature increases. In this study, measurement of smartphone power level with the addition of user up to 10 devices, and temperature measurement when access occurs. There are two tests, namely on indoor conditions and outdoor conditions. Wireless router as access point with frequency 2.4 GHz is placed inside the acrylic test box that has been made with dimensions of 70 x 70 x 60 cm. Taking data is done as much as 2 stages, that is in first minute and fifth minute every addition number of user. And measured the transmit power of the wireless router antenna to know the strength of the electromagnetic field. From the analysis result, got the value of electromagnetic field strength of the wireless router antenna in the indoor conditions of 5.27⨯10−13 W/m and outdoor conditions of 1.343⨯10−13W/m. Tests on the indoor conditions decreased the quality average received power level smartphone for 1 minute by 8.14x10-6 watts and the temperature increased by 0.3 oC, while at 5 minutes the average smartphone power level decreased by 4.65 x10-6 watts and the temperature increased by 0.5 oC. Tests on outdoor conditions also decreased the quality of the average smartphone power level for 1 minute by 3.089x10-6 watts and the temperature increased by 0.2 oC, while at 5 minutes the average smartphone power level decreased by 2.529x10-6 watts and temperature increased by 0.3 oC.
