Abstract
Terumbu karang merupakan ekosistem yang paling beragam dan memiliki produktivitas yang tinggi di bumi. Berdasarkan bentuk pertumbuhannya, karang keras (scleractinian) terbagi menjadi karang Acropora dan non-Acropora. Penyakit karang adalah salah satu hal baru yang menjadi ancaman terhadap ketahanan komunitas terumbu karang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara life form karang dengan penyakit dan gangguan kesehatan karang. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Maret – Mei 2017 dengan 3 stasiun penelitian. Pengambilan data karang menggunakan belt transect 100 x 1 m dan transek kuadran 1 x 1 m. Pengaruh life form terhadap munculnya penyakit karang memiliki hubungan yang tidak berpengaruh, dimana penyakit karang dapat muncul atau menempel pada koloni karang secara acak, begitu pula dengan pengaruh life form terhadap gangguan kesehatan karang.
English Abstract
Coral reefs are the most diverse and highly productive ecosystems on earth. Based on its growth form, hard corals (scleractinian) are divided into Acropora and non-Acropora corals. Coral disease is one of the new things that pose a threat to the resilience of the coral reef community. This study aimed to analyze the life form’s relationship between with coral diseases and coral health disorders. This research was conducted in March - May 2017 with 3 research stations. Coral data were collected using 100 x 1 m belt transect and 1 x 1 m quadrant transect. The relation between life form and coral diseases has no impact, where coral diseases emerge and stick to the coral colony randomly. Moreover, the relation between life form and coral health disorders also has no impact.
