Abstract

Saat ini, pemerintah Indonesia telah menerapkan kurikulum 2013 sebagai acuan pendidikan di Indonesia. Dalam penerapannya, kurikulum 2013 tak hanya digunakan sebagai acuan dalam proses belajar mengajar, namun digunakan juga sebagai acuan dalam pembuatan buku ajar. Maka, buku Bahasa inggris yang digunakan oleh siswa saat ini berdasarkan pada kurikulum 2013. Berdasarkan penjelasan tersebut, dalam penelitian ini peneliti focus pada materi teks fungsional pendek yang terdapat pada buku Bahasa Inggris. Sehingga disini, peneliti ingin mengetahui kesesuaian materi teks fungsional pendek dengan kurikulum 2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dalam menganalisis 3 macam teks fungsional pendek di buku “Bahasa Inggris” yang digunakan oleh murid kelas 10 SMA/SMK berdasarkan syllabus di kurikulum 2013. Dalam analisis materi tersebut, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan ceklis instrument yang telah tervalidasi berdasarkan kurikulum 2013. Hasil akhir dari penilaian akan disajikan dalam presentasi yang terbagi dalam Poor (0%-25%), Fair (26%-50%), Good (51%-75%), dan Excellent (76%- 100%). Pada hasil dari penelitian, menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tiga macam teks fungsional pendek tentang Letter atau E-mail, Greeting Card, dan Announcement. Pada materi tentang Letter atau E-mail dan Announcement, menunjukan bahwa materi tentang kedua fungsional pendek tersebut tidak sesuai dengan kurikulum 2013 karena materi tersebut haanya mendapatkan 0% (Kurang). Materi terakhir adalah tentang Greeting Card yang hanya mendapatkan 50% (Cukup) dan berarti bahwa hanya setengah dari materi yang sesuai dengan kurikulum 2013. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa buku “Bahasa Inggris” tidak sesuai dengan kurikulum 2013. Peneliti pun menyarankan kepada penulis buku dan para guru untuk lebih memperhatikan materi didalam buku teks.

English Abstract

Nowadays, Indonesian government applied curriculum 2013 as the main reference for the education in Indonesia. In its implementation, curriculum 2013 is not only used as a reference in the learning process, but also used as a reference in making textbooks. Therefore, the English textbook that the students used nowadays refers to curriculum 2013. Regarding the explanation, in this research the researcher focuses on Short Functional Text material provided in English textbook. Here, the researcher wants to know the appropriateness of short functional text materials with curriculum 2013. This research used Descriptive Qualitative method in analyzing 3 kinds of short functional text material in “Bahasa Inggris” textbook for 1st year students of senior/vocational high school based on syllabus in curriculum 2013. In the analysis of the material, this research was conducted by using an instrument checklist which has been validated based on curriculum 2013The final results of the analysis were presented in a percentage which is divided into Poor (0% - 25%), Fair (26% -50%), Good (51% -75%), and Excellent (76% -100%). In the result of the research, it shows that there were three kinds of short functional text materials about Letter or E-mail, Greeting Card, and Announcement. In materials about Letter or E-mail and Announcement, the materials show that they were not appropriate with curriculum 2013 because they only gain 0% (Poor). The last material was about Greeting Card which only gain 50% (Fair) which mean only a half of the material was appropriate with curriculum 2013. So, it can be concluded that “Bahasa Inggris” textbook was not appropriate with curriculum 2013. The researcher suggested to the writer of the textbook and the teacher to pay more attention with the material in the textbook.
