Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan protection motivation dengan intensi merokok pada siswa SMA di kota Malang. Desain penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif. Partisipan secara keseluruhan berjumlah 110 orang dengan rentang umur antara 15 sampai 18 tahun. Berdasarkan hasil uji korelasi menggunakan metode product moment Pearson didapatkan hasil hubungan yang signifikan dan berkorelasi negatif antara protection motivation dengan intensi merokok pada siswa SMA di kota Malang (p < 0.05). Korelasi negatif berarti bahwa semakin tinggi nilai protection motivation akan diikuti penurunan pada intensi merokok, begitu pula sebaliknya.

English Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between protection motivation and smoking intention in high school students in the city of Malang. This study involve 110 high school students with a lifespan of between 15 to 18 years. Based on the results of correlation using the Pearson correlation showed a significant and negative correlation between protection motivation and smoking intention in high school students in the city of Malang (p <0.05). The negative correlation means that the higher the value of the protection motivation will be followed by a decline in smoking intentions, and vice versa.
