Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara intensitas bermain game online dengan problem solving pada mahasiswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian yaitu 115 mahasiswa yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan skala intensitas bermain game online Horrigan (Iskandar, 2013) dan skala problem solving Heppner (2004). Analisis data menggunakan teknik statistik korelasi product moment-pearson. Hasil penelitian dengan analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa koefisian korelasi sebesar 0,509 dengan tingkat signifikansi (ρ) sebesar 0,000, artinya terdapat hubungan positif antara intensitas bermain game online dengan problem solving pada mahasiswa, sehingga semakin tinggi intensitas bermain game online maka semakin tinggi problem solving pada mahasiswa.

English Abstract

This research was conducted to know the relation between intensity of play games online and problem solving in college student. This research use the quantitative method. The subject of research is 115 college students, subject obtainable by use the purpose sampling technique. This Research use Horrigan scale (Iskandar, 2013) as intensity of play games online scale and Heppner (2004) as problem solving scale. Data analysis use one of statistics technique, that’s product momen Pearson correlation. The result of research use statistics analysis show that correlation coefisien is 0,509 with level of significance (p) is 0,000, so there is a postive relation between intensity of play games online and problem solving in student college, with the result that more high intensity of play games online then more high problem solving in college student.
