Abstract
Fandom telah berubah menjadi budaya yang mentransformasi budaya populer menjadi produksi teks baru, bahkan budaya baru dan komunitas baru. Slash fanfiction merupakan salah satu hasil dari produksi fandom yang cukup populer. Slash fanfiction merupakan fanfiction yang mengandung cerita tentang hubungan sesama jenis di antara dua karakter dan kerap menampilkan adegan erotis pada ceritanya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pemaknaan slash fanfiction oleh perempuan penggemar slash fanfiction. Informan dari penelitian ini merupakan pengikut dari akun Line Official Larry Library, sebuah komunitas pencinta slash fanfiction dengan tokoh utama Harry Styles dan Louis Tomlinson dari boyband One Direction. Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan analisis resepsi Klaus Bruhn Jensen dengan memakai teknik analisis data yang terdiri dari pengumpulan data, analisis data, dan interpretasi data. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan melakukan wawancara mendalam terhadap admin Larry Library dan juga adders Larry Library. Analisis data dilakukan dengan melakukan analisis encoding dan decoding. Lalu yang terakhir adalah melakukan interpretasi terhadap analisis encoding dan decoding agar dapat ditarik kesimpulan untuk mengetahui hasil dari penelitian. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah slash fanfiction merupakan bahan bacaan yang merubah fantasi penggemar menjadi terobsesi agar idolanya menyukai sesama jenis. Isi slash fanfiction yang terkadang mengandung adegan sensual pun dianggap sebagai hal yang wajar. Slash fanfiction juga dianggap dapat membentuk konstruksi baru atas ragam orintasi seksual pembacanya.
English Abstract
Fandom has turned into a culture that transformed popular culture into new texts production, even changed into a whole new culture and new communities. Slash fanfiction is one of the most popular fandom’s production. Slash fanfiction is a fanfiction that contains stories about same sex relationship between two characters and often shows erotic scenes in the story. The purpose of this research is to know the meaning of slash fanfiction by female fans of slash fanfiction. The informants are adders of Official Line Account named Larry Library, a fan page of slash fanfiction lovers who love to read slash fanfiction with Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson from One Direction as the main characters. This qualitative research used Klaus Bruhn Jensen’s reception analysis using data analysis technique that consists of data collection, data analysis, and data interpretation. Data collection was done by conducting in-depth interviews with Larry Library’s administrator and also Larry Library’s adders. Encoding and decoding methods was used to performing data analysis. The last step was to interpreting the analysis of decoding and encoding in order to drawn conclusions to find out the results of this research. The results showed that slash fanfiction is a reading material that change the fantasy of fans to become obsessed with the idea that their idol likes people from the same sex. The contents of slash fanfiction sometimes contain sensual scenes that they considered as a natural thing. Slah fanfiction is also considered to form a new construction on the variety of reader’s sexual orientation.
