Abstract

Garut adalah tanaman umbi potensial yang menghasilkan pati. Garut dikonsumsi oleh sebagian masyarakat Indonesia terutama pada masa paceklik selain ubi jalar, ubi kayu, dan talas. Garut dapat bertahan tumbuh di kondisi lahan yang sedikit air, di bawah naungan maupun tanpa naungan, serta kaya gizi dan manfaat. Nilai kalori pada tepung garut ialah 355,00 kkal berbeda tipis dengan nilai kalori pada beras giling 360,00 kkal dan tepung terigu 365,00 kkal. Keterangan mengenai gejala dan patogen penyebab penyakit pada tanaman garut masih sangat minim serta belum ada penelitian terbaru akan perkembangan dari gejala penyakit dan status patogen tersebut. Informasi terkait penyakit dan patogen pada tanaman garut dibutuhkan dalam pengembangan budidaya garut. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Mikologi Jurusan Hama dan Penyakit Tumbuhan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Brawijaya Malang pada bulan Agustus 2016 - Februari 2017. Lokasi penelitian berada di Desa Poncokusumo, Ledok Ombo Poncokusumo, Malang pada ketinggian 903 m dpl dengan posisi koordinat 8,05429 Lintang Selatan (LS) dan 112,81708 Bujur Timur (BT). Pelaksanaan penelitian meliputi, penghitungan intensitas penyakit, identifikasi penyakit dan postulat koch dengan dua metode yaitu metode pelukaan-penyemprotan dan pelukaan-penempelan. Data berupa persentase intensitas penyakit, identifikasi jamur penyebab penyakit dan hasil postulat koch disajikan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat penyakit pada daun tanaman garut yang disebabkan oleh patogen jamur yaitu Fusarium sp., Colletotrichum sp., dan Curvularia sp. Diperoleh tiga macam bercak yaitu bercak coklat dengan persen intensitas penyakit 34,62%, bercak daun 2, 22,42%, dan bercak daun 1, 15,45%.

English Abstract

Garut included in the potential root crops that produce starch. Garut is a selection of food consumed by most people of Indonesia, especially during a famine in addition to sweet potatoes, cassava and taro. Garut can survive grow in land with a little water conditions, under the shade or no shade, also rich in nutrients and benefits. Calorific value in kcal 355.00 of garut powder is slightly different with a calorific value in 360.00 kcal milled rice and 365.00 kcal wheat flour. Information about symptoms and disease-causing pathogens of garut plant is still very low and there has been no recent research about the development of symptoms of the disease and the status of the pathogen. Information related diseases and pathogens of garut plant is needed in order to develop the agriculture of garut. Research was conducted at the Mycology Laboratory of the Department of Plant Pests and Diseases Brawijaya University in Malang from August 2016 to the February 2017. The research location is in Poncokusumo, Ledok Ombo Poncokusumo, Malang at an altitude of 903 meters above sea level in the coordinates South Latitude 8.05429 (LS) and 112.81708 east longitude (BT). Implementation of research include, calculating the intensity of the disease, identify disease and Koch's postulates with two methods; wounding-spraying method and wounding-pasting method. Data such as the percentage of the intensity of the disease, identification of fungi that cause disease and the results of Koch's postulates presented descriptively. The results showed that there is a disease on the leaves of garut plant caused by pathogenic fungi are Fusarium sp., Colletotrichum sp., and Curvularia sp. There are three kinds of spots they are, brown spots with 34,62% percent of the intensity of the disease, leaf spot 2, with 22,42% percent and leaf spot 1 with 15,45%.
