Abstract
Hiperlipidemia merupakan penyebab utama berbagai penyakit degeneratif saat ini, sehingga muncul tren yang sedang popular di masyarakat yaitu konsumsi perasan lemon. Lemon mengandung naringenin yang dapat menurunkan VLDL, begitu juga dengan jeruk nipis yang mengandung niasin yang juga terbukti menurunkan VLDL. Selain itu, harga jeruk nipis lebih murah dibandingkan lemon. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji perbedaan kadar VLDL pada kelompok yang diberi perasan lemon fino (Citrus limon fino) dan jeruk nipis (Citrus aurantifolia). Penelitian ini menggunakan desain true experimental laboratory dengan Post Test Only Controlled Group Design pada 40 tikus Rattus norvegicus Galur Wistar jantan selama 6 minggu dimana 1 minggu masa aklimatisasi dan 5 minggu masa perlakuan. Tikus dibagi menjadi 8 kelompok perlakuan dengan 5 ekor pada masing-masing kelompok, yaitu : kelompok yang diberi HFD (P0); kelompok yang diberi HFD + simvastain (P1); kelompok yang diberi HFD + perasan lemon masing-masing 1 ml, 2ml, 3ml (P2,P3,P4) dan kelompok yang diberi HFD + perasan jeruk nipis masing-masing 1 ml, 2ml, 3ml (P5,P6,P7). Perhitungan kadar VLDL menggunakan rumus Friedewald dimana terlebih dahulu harus mengetahui kadar trigliseride menggunakan metode spectrophotometry. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan tidak terdapat perbedaan kadar VLDL saat diberi perasan lemon ataupun jeruk nipis (p=0.187).
English Abstract
Hyperlipidemic is the main cause of various degenerative disease nowadays. That is why there is a trend which is popular appears in the society that is consumption of lemon juice.Lemon contains naringenin that can decrease VLDL, likewise lime contains niacin that also has been proven in decreasing VLDL. Otherwise, the price of lime is cheaper than lemon. This research aims to examine the difference of VLDL level between the group which given lemon juice (citrus limon fino) and lime juice (citrus aurantifolia). This research used true experimental laboratory and Post Test Only Controlled Group design on 40 male Rattus norvegicus Galur Wistar rats for 6 weeks in which 1 week for acclimatization period and 5 weeks for period of treatment. Rats were divided into 8 groups of treatment in which there were 5 rats in each group, they are: group was given HFD (P0); group was given HFD + simvastatin (P1); group was given HFD + lemon juice each 1ml, 2ml, 3ml (group P2, P3, P4 respectively) and group was given HFD + lime juice each 1 ml, 2ml, 3 ml (group P5, P6, P7 respectively) for 5 weeks. The calculation of VLDL level used Friedewald formula where the first thing to do is to know the levels of trigliseride by using spectrophotometry method. Based on the result of this research it can be concluded that there is no any difference levels of VLDL between group that receive lemon juice or lime juice (p=0.187).
