Abstract

Hiperlipidemia adalah suatu keadaan terjadinya peningkatan kolesterol dan /atau trigliserida serum diatas batas normal. Kondisi tersebut akan meningkatkan resiko untuk menderita penyakit jantung atau stroke. Flavonoid utama (hesperidin dan naringenin) dalam buah lemon dan jeruk nipis menurut beberapa penelitian terbukti memiliki efek hipolipidemik dengan menghambat enzim hati yang terlibat dalam sintesis triasilgliserol seperti ACAT (Acyl-CoA Cholesterol Acyltransferase) dan MTP (Microsomal Transfer Protein) sehingga dapat menurunkan triasilgliserol dalam hati. Selain itu, jeruk nipis memiliki harga yang lebih terjangkau, ketersediaan dipasar melimpah dan diharapkan dapat meningkatkan budidaya tanaman lokal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menunjukkan perbedaan kadar trigliserida pada tikus yang diberi diet tinggi lemak dengan pemberian lemon dan jeruk nipis. Studi eksperimental menggunakan post test control group design dilakukan terhadap hewan coba tikus Wistar jantan. Sampel dipilih dengan cara randomisasi untuk dibagi ke dalam 8 kelompok. P0 tidak diberi perlakuan, P1 diberi simvastatin 2 ml/ekor/hari, P2-P4 diberi perasan lemon dengan volume pemberian masing-masing 1 ml/ekor/hari, 2 ml/ekor/hari, dan 3 ml/ekor/hari, serta P5-P7 diberi perasan jeruk nipis dengan volume pemberian masing-masing 1 ml/ekor/hari, 2 ml/ekor/hari, dan 3 ml/ekor/hari. Semua kelompok diberi diet tinggi lemak. Variabel yang diukur adalah kadar trigliserida dengan metode spektrofotometri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan kadar trigliserida antar kelompok perlakuan (p=0.216). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah tidak terdapat perbedaan kadar trigliserida antar kelompok perlakuan.

English Abstract

Hyperlipidemia is a condition of elevated cholesterol and / or triglyceride serum above normal limits. These conditions will increase the risk of heart disease or stroke. The main flavonoids (hesperidin and naringenin) in lemon and lime according to some studies have been shown to have hypolipidemic effect by inhibiting liver enzymes that are involved in triacylglycerol synthesis such as ACAT (Acyl-CoA Cholesterol Acyltransferase) and MTP (Microsomal Transfer Protein) to lower triacylglycerol plasma in the liver. In addition, lime has more affordable price, abundant availability in the market and expected to increase the cultivation of local crops. This study aims to shows the comparison of triglyceride level in rats that are provided high-fat diet and treatment of lemon and lime juices. Experimental study using post test control group design was conducted onto male Wistar rats. The sample was chosen by randomization to be divided into eight groups. P0 was given no treatment, P1 was given simvastatin 2 ml/rat/day, P2-P4 were given lemon juice with volume of administration were respectively 1 ml/rat/day, 2 ml/rat/day, and 3 ml/rat/day, and P5-P7 were given lime juice with volume of administration were respectively 1 ml/rat/day, 2 ml/rat/day, and 3 ml/rat/day. All group were given a high-fat diet. The variable measured was triglyceride level by spectrophotometry method. The results showed that no difference in triglyceride levels between treatment groups (p=0.216). The conclusion of this research is no difference in triglyceride levels between treatment groups.
