Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengetahui pengaruh secara simultan maupun parsial keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja (K3) serta work overload terhadap job stress pada karyawan PT Bahari Utama Karya. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif kausal untuk mencari pengaruh variabel bebas terhadap variabel terikat. Populasi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 50 orang karyawan bagian lapangan, dimana teknik total sampling atau sampling jenuh yaitu mengambil seluruh anggota populasi menjadi sampel penelitian. analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) H1 diterima atau terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan bahwa variable work overload dan kepuasaan kerja 2) H2a diterima atau terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan variabel work overload (X1) terhadap job stress (Y). H2b ditolak atau terdapat pengaruh yang tidak signifikan variabel keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja (K3) (X2) terhadap Job stress (Y). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jika variabel keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja (K3) memiliki pengaruh yang sangat dominan terhadap job stress. Hal ini dikarenakan dengan adanya keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja (K3) karyawan merasa aman, namun K3 yang disediakan oleh perusahaan tidak sepenuhnya digunakan dan ditaati oleh kryawan sehingga membuat pengaruhnya tidak signifikan. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut maka disarankan selanjutnya diharapkan dapat meneliti dengan variabel-variabel lain dan meneliti ulang terkait dengan K3 karen berdasarkan hasil penelitian H2a ditolak sehingga peneliti selanjutnya meneliti pada lokasi yang berbeda sehingga dapat menujukkan hasil yang lebih signifikan terhadap job stress. Perusahaan harus mampu mengatur work overload dan meningkatkan keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja (K3) agar untuk mengurangi strees kerja karena terbukti bahwa H1 diterima dimana menjukkan pengaruh yang positif.
English Abstract
This study aims to examine the simultaneous and partial effect of the occupational health and safety (OHS) and work overload on the job stress of employees at PT Bahari Utama Karya. The research employs quantitative causal method to identify the influence of the independent variable towards the dependent. The population is 50 field employees, and all of them are selected as the research samples by saturation technique. The data are analyzed by multiple regression method. The results of the analysis show that: (1) H1 is accepted, i.e. that there is a positive and significant influence among work overload variable and work satisfaction; (2) H2a is accepted, meaning that work overload variable positively and significantly affects job stress (Y). On the other hand, H2b is rejected as OHS (X2) does not show significant influence on job stress (Y). The results confirm that OHS has a very dominant effect on the job stress because the presence of such a variable triggers the employees’ feeling safe; however, the OHS provided by the company is not used and adhered by the employees so fully that its influence is not significant. With regard to the results of this study, it is advisable that other researchers investigate the influence of other OHS-related variables. As H2a of the research is rejected, the next researchers are encouraged to examine the variable in different locations where it may show more significant effect on job stress. Companies are expected to be able to manage work overload and improve the OHS in order to reduce work stress as proven by the acceptance of H1.
