Abstract
Sang Penari adalah film tahun 2011 yang menceritakan tentang Penari Ronggeng dari Banyumas yang dikemas dengan tragedi politik tahun 1965, tentang Penari Ronggeng yang dipahami sebagai praktik prostitusi legal yang telah melembaga di masyarakat. Di dalam film Sang Penari, beberapa adegan menunjukan penggunakan senjata tradisional keris. Keris sebagai produk budaya merupakan hasil dari sistem gagasan, tindakan, dan kreasi manusia dalam konteks kehidupan masyarakat. Hasil kebudayaan berkaitan dengan sistem simbol yang menjadi acuan dan pedoman bagi kehidupan masyarakat dan sebagai sistem simbol yang memberi makna. Berdasarkan fenomena penggunaan keris tersebut, diperlukan kajian ilmiah mengenai makna keris dalam film dengan analisis semiotika sosial menggunakan dimensi wacana & modalitas oleh Theo Van Leeuwen. Hasil analisis keris dalam semiotika sosial dalam dimensi wacana memiliki kedudukan sebagai legitimasi dari masyarakat sosial sebagai Penari Ronggeng. Dimensi modalitas Keris Luk 7 Jaran Goyang dimaknai sebagai representasi dari kehidupan Desa Dukuh Paruk dan Penari Ronggeng itu sendiri ketika mengalami pasang surut dalam hidupnya atau pertanda sial.
English Abstract
Sang Penari is a 2011 film that tells the story of Banyumas ronggeng’s life wrapped in the 1965 political tragedy, the myth about Ronggeng is understood as a practice of legal prostitution that has become institutionalized in society. In the film, several scenes show the use of traditional keris weapons. Keris as a cultural product is the result of the system of ideas, actions, and human creations within the context of people’s lives. The results of culture are related to symbol systems, which are references and guidelines for people's lives and as a system of symbols, giving meaning, models that are transmitted through symbolic codes. Based on the phenomenon of the use of keris, a scientific study is needed regarding the meaning of the keris in cultural films with social semiotics analysis using discourse & modality dimensions by Theo Van Leeuwen. The result of the analysis of the keris in social semiotics in the discourse dimension has a position as legitimacy from social society as a ronggeng. Modality dimensions of the Keris Luk 7 Jaran Goyang is interpreted as a representation of the life of the Dukuh Paruk and the ronggeng itself when it experiences a rise or fall in its life or a sign of bad luck.
