Geovandi, Muhammad Sonydio and Prof. Dr. Ir. Didik Hariyono, MS. (2022) Studi Intensitas Curah Hujan dan Hari Hujan Terhadap Produktivitas Tanaman Ubi Jalar (Ipomoea batatas L.). Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
Sweet potato is a food commodity that is important for human life, especially the people of Indonesia. Sweet potato is a food crop that has the potential to replace rice because it is efficient in producing energy. Sweet potato production in Malang District has decreased every year from 2018 to 2021 by 10,694 tons. Increasing the intensity of rainfall and rainy days in Malang District is thought to affect the decrease in the productivity of sweet potato plants. Rainfall intensity and rainy days are important climatic elements in sweet potato production, so it is necessary to study the relationship between rainfall intensity and rainy days on sweet potato productivity. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of rainfall intensity and rainy days on the productivity of sweet potato plants in Malang District. This research was conducted in June-August 2022 using a survey method in Malang District, which was carried out in three places, namely Pakis Sub- District, Jabung Sub-District and Ngajum Sub-District. The location was chosen because the Sub-Districts of Pakis, Jabung and Ngajum are the largest sweet potato production centers in Malang District. The research method used was purposive sampling. Sampling was carried out using primary data and secondary data. Primary data was obtained by interviewing 60 farmers on sweet potato crops. Secondary data was obtained from the Central Statistics Agency and the Water Resources Public Works Office including climate data such as rainfall intensity, rainy days, wet and dry months as well as sweet potato productivity data in Pakis, Jabung and Ngajum Sub-Districts for 11 years from 2011-2021. Data analysis was carried out with a correlation test between rainfall intensity, rainy days, wet months, and dry months on the productivity of sweet potato plants in Malang District and if there is a relationship then it is continued with multiple linear regression tests.. Based on the results of the study, it was shown that from the three locations of sweet potato production centers (Pakis, Jabung and Ngajum) there were positive and negative correlations between climate elements (rainfall intensity, rainy days, wet months and dry months) on sweet potato productivity. Rainy days and wet months are positively correlated while rainfall intensity is negatively correlated, dry months are not correlated in Ngajum Sub-District while the other two Sub-Districts are not correlated with rainfall intensity, rainy days, wet months and dry months on sweet potato crop productivity. The results of the regression test showed that the climate element that most influenced the productivity of sweet potatoes in Ngajum District was the wet month based on multiple linear regression tests (Y = 15.984 - 0.025X1 + 0.210X2 + 5.569X3).
