Lestari, Inayah Rizki and Prof. Dr. Ir. Aminudin Afandhi, MS. (2023) Isolasi dan Identifikasi Jamur Serangga dari Tanah Pematang Sawah. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

English Abstract

Insect pathogenic fungi are widespread biological agents and often contribute to the natural regulation of insect populations. Various types of insect fungi in soil can be obtained using the insect bait method. Fungi isolated from insects have functional diversity, namely insect pathogenic fungi, opportunistic pathogens and secondary colonizers. Paddy field bunds have a diversity of weed vegetation which provides suitable environmental conditions for the life of insect fungi. The research was carried out by taking soil samples in the bunds of farmers' rice fields in Mulyoagung Village, Dau District, Malang Regency. The activity was carried out at the Laboratory of Biological Control 2, Faculty of Agriculture, Brawijaya University. The research started in November 2022 until January 2023. This research is a descriptive and experimental research. The descriptive study included identification of weed diversity and the isolation and identification of insect fungi from paddy field bunds, while the experimental study included the pathogenicity test of insect fungi against T. molitor larvae. Paddy field bunds consist of 8 types of weeds from 6 families. The type of weed with the highest number of individuals comes from the Poaceae (grass) family. Insect fungi isolated from paddy field bunds obtained as many as 22 isolated fungi consisting of 4 genera, namely Fusarium, Aspergillus, Beauveria and Metarhizium. There were 12 isolates from the genus Fusarium, 4 isolates from the genus Aspergillus, 5 isolates from the genus Beauveria and 1 isolate from the genus Metarhizium. The functional diversity of insect fungi consists of 11 opportunist pathogens and 11 secondary colonizers which cause mortality in T. molitor larvae of 3.33% -23.33%.
