Abstract
Faktor pertama komposisi media tanam terdiri dari 5 dosis yaitu: M0 (100% tanah + 0% pupuk kandang), M1 (75% tanah + 25% pupuk kandang), M2 (50% tanah + 50% pupuk kandang), M3 (25% tanah + 75% pupuk kandang), M4 (0% tanah + 100% pupuk kandang).
English Abstract
Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) has a great deal of potential to expand the nation's foreign exchange sources, hence greater efforts must be made to boost oil palm output. One of the things that may be done is to use the composition of planting media and suitable watering intervals to improve the quality of oil palm seedlings during the pre-nursery stage, allowing oil palms to grow optimally and increase the quality of palm oil. Oil palm seeds need the right environment to grow healthily. Top soil and manure were the planting mediums employed. Applying manure to the soil can enhance its physical qualities, provide nutrients, and fertilize it. Soil plays a crucial role in supplying the nutrients that plants need to grow. In contrast, water acts as a conduit for nutrients to travel from the roots to all plant tissues. This study intends to investigate how oil palm seedlings in the pre-nursery stage grow in relation to the planting medium and watering interval used. The research's main premise is that the pre-nursery stage oil palm seedlings can grow well when treated with a planting medium composed of 75% soil and 25% manure, with intervals of watering twice daily at a total dose of 1 l/plant. This study was carried out at the Jatimulyo experimental field, Faculty of Agriculture, Brawijaya University, from January to March 2022. In this investigation, a factorial randomized block design (RBD) with two factors-five doses of the composition of the planting media (M) and three doses of the interval between treatments of water-was used (P). 45 experimental units were created by combining the two components in a total of 15 treatment combinations with 3 replications. M0 (100% soil + 0% manure), M1 (75% soil + 25% manure), M2 (50% soil + 50% manure), M3 (25% soil + 75% manure), and M4 (0% soil + 100% manure) were the 5 dosages of planting media that made up the first factor. The second aspect is the watering schedule, which consists of three dosages of 0.5 liters each: P1 (once day), P2 (two times daily), and P3 (3 times a day). The collected data were examined using analysis of variance (F test) at a level of 5%. If there was a significant difference (Fcount>Ftable) between treatments, the Honest Significant Difference (HSD) test was then performed at a level of 5%. Manure in the planting medium might lower the frequency of watering from three times daily to two times daily. The treatment of planting media composition and the dry weight yield of 90 HST oil palm seedlings The value of planting media composed of 75% soil + 25% manure with intervals of watering twice has a value of 4.10 g, whereas 100% soil with intervals of watering three times a day has a value of 3.96 g. Both of these treatments performed better than the other treatments. However, a planting medium made up of 75% soil and 25% manure and watered twice a day is more water-efficient.
