Abstract

Kopi arabika merupakan salah satu jenis kopi yang dibudidayakan di perkebunan kopi UB Forest. Rendahnya unsur hara fosfor (P) pada tanah dan tingginya kerapatan kanopi menyebabkan rendahnya hasil produktivitas kopi di kebun kopi UB Forest. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hara pada tanaman salah satunya yaitu penambahan bahan organik dan unsur hara. Tujuan pada penelitian ini yaitu untuk 1) menganalisis pengaruh pemberian pupuk organik dan anorganik serta pemangkasan pohon penaung terhadap sifat fisik tanah; 2) menganalisis pengaruh pemberian pupuk organik dan anorganik serta pemangkasan terhadap potensi produksi kopi; dan 3) menganalisis hubungan sifat fisik tanah terhadap produksi kopi di UB Forest. Kegiatan penelitian dilakukan di Lahan UB Forest, Dusun Sumbersari, Desa Tawang Argo, Kecamatan Karangploso, Kabupaten Malang pada bulan Desember 2021 hingga Mei 2022. Rancangan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial (RAKF) dengan (3) tiga taraf perlakuan dan (4) empat ulangan. Perlakuan dalam penelitian terdiri dari: perlakuan pertama terdiri dari tanaman penaung dipangkas atau trimming (T1) dan tanaman penaung tidak dipangkas atau non trimming (T2); perlakuan kedua meliputi pupuk anorganik (I), pupuk organik (O) dan pupuk kombinasi (organik dan anorganik) (M); dan perlakukan ketiga terbagi menjadi dosis petani (D1), dosis rekomendasi puslitkoka (D2), dosis pergantian unsur hara (D3). Parameter sifat fisik tanah yang diamati meliputi berat isi tanah, berat jenis tanah, porositas tanah, kadar air kapasitas lapang, kadar air titik layu permanen dan kadar air tersedia. Variabel pengamatan dianalisis menggunakan software R studio. Hasil data pengamatan dilakukan analisis ragam dengan taraf 5% dan uji lanjut Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) dengan taraf 5% untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari masing-masing perlakuan. Selanjutnya melakukan korelasi antara sifat fisik tanah dan produksi kopi. Pengaplikasian pupuk organik dan anorganik berpengaruh nyata (p<0,05) terhadap sifat fisik tanah, namun belum terdeteksi memperbaiki sifat fisik tanah selama periode pengamatan. Pemberian pupuk organik dan anorganik belum mampu meningkatkan produksi kopi secara nyata (p<0,05). Hasil korelasi antara sifat fisik tanah dan produksi kopi didapatkan hasil pada porositas (0-20 cm) berkorelasi nyata dengan nilai r= -0,229. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan dosis yang direkomendasikan kepada petani sebaiknya dengan menggunakan T2OD1 (Pohon penaung tidak dipangkas + Pupuk Organik + Dosis petani). Hal tersebut dikarenakan tidak terdapat perbedaan secara nyata antar perlakuan, sehingga petani direkomendasikan untuk tetap menggunakan dosis pupuk seperti yang telah diterapkan sebelumnya.

English Abstract

Arabica coffee is a type of coffee cultivated on UB Forest coffee plantations. The low nutrient element phosphorus (P) in the soil and the high canopy density cause low coffee productivity in UB Forest's coffee plantations. Efforts that can be made to meet nutrient needs in plants include the addition of organic matter and nutrients. The aims of this study were to: 1) analyze the effect of applying organic and inorganic fertilizers and trimming shade plants on the physical properties of the soil; 2) analyze the effect of organic and inorganic fertilizers and trimming on coffee production potential; and 3) analyze the relationship between soil physical properties and coffee production in the UB Forest. Research activities were carried out at UB Forest Land, Sumbersari Hamlet, Tawang Argo Village, Karangploso District, Malang Regency from December 2021 to May 2022. The design used in this study was a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RAKF) with three treatment levels and four replicates. The treatment in the study consisted of: the first treatment consisted of trimming shade plants (T1) and not trimming shade plants (T2); the second treatment included inorganic fertilizers (I), organic fertilizers (O), and combination fertilizers (organic and inorganic) (M); and the third treatment was divided into farmer doses (D1), recommended doses from Puslitkoka (D2), and nutrient replacement doses (D3). Parameters of soil physical properties observed included soil bulk density, soil particle density, soil porosity, field capacity moisture content, permanent wilting point moisture content, and available water content. Observational variables were analyzed using R Studio software. The results of the observational data were analyzed for variance with a level of 5% and further tested by the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) with a level of 5% to determine the effect of each treatment. Then examine the relationship between soil physical properties and coffee production. The application of organic and inorganic fertilizers had a significant (p<0.05) effect on the physical properties of the soil, but it was not detected to improve the physical properties of the soil during the observation period. The use of organic and inorganic fertilizers did not result in a significant increase in coffee production (p<0.05). The results of the correlation between the physical properties of the soil and coffee production showed that the porosity (0–20 cm) was significantly correlated with a value of r = –0.229. Based on the research conducted, the recommended dose for farmers should be T2OD1 (shade trees not pruned + organic fertilizer + farmer's dose). This is because there is no significant difference between treatments, so farmers are recommended to keep using fertilizer doses as previously applied.
