Abstract

English Abstract

Agricultural land has an important role for plant growth and development. Land with good processing and care will make plant growth and development optimal so that production is also optimal. Examples of such land are eco friendly and conventional land. Eco friendly land is land that is managed wisely where the input of chemical substances is minimized so that biodiversity can be said to be maintained and high so that it will support plant growth and development. Meanwhile, conventional land uses chemical inputs in plant cultivation activities such as chemical pesticides so that it can cause less biodiversity such as rhizosphere fungi. Rhizosphere fungi can be found around plant roots. Rhizosphere fungi have various benefits such as being able to act as biological agents where these fungi have antagonistic activity against pathogens such as pathogenic fungi and insect pests. Different land uses such as eco-friendly land and conventional land have an influence on the rhizosphere fungi such as their effect on viability and spore density because the actions on these lands are also different as in the minimization of chemical inputs in eco-friendly land. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Biological Control 1, Faculty of Agriculture, Brawijaya University and eco friendly and conventional cabbage fields at Agrotechnopark Brawijaya University, Sumberbrantas Village, Bumiaji District, Batu City. The research was conducted from September to December 2022. The method of implementation consisted of sampling the rhizosphere of cabbage plants, isolating cabbage rhizosphere fungi using the insect baiting method, purification, identifying fungi, observing the density and viability of fungal spores and analyzing data. The results of this study indicated that 5 genera of rhizosphere fungi were found on eco friendly land, namely Fusarium sp., Penicillium sp., Aspergillus sp., Metarhizium sp. and Trichoderma sp. Meanwhile, in conventional land, 2 genera of rhizosphere fungi were found, namely Fusarium sp. and Aspergillus sp. Based on the results of observations of the density and viability of rhizosphere fungal spores, the results were obtained that land use patterns had a significant effect on rhizosphere fungal spore density where the rhizosphere fungal spore density on eco friendly land was higher than conventional land and land use patterns had no significant effect on spore viability.
