Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 saat ini telah memberikan banyak dampak bagi kehidupan masyarakat di seluruh dunia, termasuk penyelenggaraan pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi guru bahasa Inggris di SMAN 7 Malang terhadap tantangan pembelajaran daring selama pandemi COVID-19. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif. Data diambil dari wawancara dengan guru Bahasa Inggris SMAN 7 Malang sebanyak 3 orang guru Bahasa Inggris senior dengan pengalaman mengajar minimal 20 tahun. Hasil studi menyimpulkan bahwa guru menghadapi banyak tantangan selama pembelajaran daring, namun dengan banyak praktik, webinar, dll, tantangan tersebut dapat diatasi dengan baik. Temuan tersebut berimplikasi pada pemahaman guru tentang belajar mengajar daring selama pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini juga memberikan beberapa saran dan evaluasi dari para guru untuk pembelajaran online kedepannya.

English Abstract

The current Covid-19 pandemic has had many impacts on people's lives around the world, including the implementation of education. This study aimed to know the English teachers’ perception in SMAN 7 Malang toward online learning challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method used is a qualitative study. The data were taken from interviews with the English teachers of SMAN 7 Malang, a total of 3 senior English teachers with a minimum of 20 years of teaching experience. The study results concluded that teachers have faced many challenges during online learning, yet by many practices, webinars, etc., the challenges could be overcome well. The findings have implications for teachers’ understanding of online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research also provides some suggestions and evaluations from teachers for online learning in the future.
