Abstract
Bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing terpenting di dunia juga memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap sistem Pendidikan di Indonesia. Dalam hal menjadi satu-satunya alat untuk berkomunikasi secara universal, baik secara umum maupun Pendidikan. Berbicara harus dikuasai terlebih dahulu untuk mendapatkan komunikasi yang jelas. Untuk memberikan informasi yang jelas dan menguasai berbicara, ada banyak tantangan dan kesulitan yang muncul ketika berbicara dipraktikkan oleh siswa. Apalagi bagi siswa penyandang cacat yang membutuhkan perawatan khusus. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis apa saja tantangan yang dihadapi oleh siswa dengan Cerebral Palsy dalam berlatih berbicara bahasa Inggris dan bagaimana siswa dengan Cerebral Palsy memecahkan tantangan dalam berbicara bahasa Inggris oleh siswa dari kelas inklusif di SMP DIPONEGORO BATU. Penelitian ini menggunakan studi kasus dan peserta penelitian ini adalah satu siswa dengan Cerebral Palsy fisik (kelas VIII Inklusif) dan guru sebagai triangulasi data untuk menganalisis data. Sebagai jenis studi penelitian etnografi yang berfokus pada satu unit yang memiliki kasus unik, penelitian ini diterapkan untuk menganalisis tantangan yang dihadapi oleh siswa. Peneliti menemukan bahwa atribut Praktik Kefasihan Mulut yang Berhasil muncul dalam proses belajar mengajar, termasuk Penghambatan, Tidak ada yang perlu dikatakan, Partisipasi Rendah atau Tidak Merata, dan Penggunaan Bahasa Ibu. Subjek juga memiliki tindakan mereka, termasuk Learner Talk a Lot, Motivasi adalah Tinggi, Partisipasi adalah Bahkan, Bahasa adalah tingkat yang dapat diterima. Selain itu, ada beberapa faktor dari dalam juga dari luar yang mengganggu mereka secara psikologis dan mental.
English Abstract
English as the most important foreign language in the world also has a significant influence toward Educational system in Indonesia. In terms of being the only tool to communicate universally, either generally or academically must be mastered firstly to get a clear communication. In order to deliver a clear information and mastering speaking, there are many challenges and difficulties which appear when speaking is practiced by the students, especially, for the students who have physical disability which needs special treatments. Therefore, this present research was conducted to analyse what were the challenges faced by the student with Cerebral Palsy in practicing speaking English and how the student with Cerebral Palsy solved the challenges in speaking English at SMP DIPONEGORO BATU. This present research used case study and the participant of this research were one student with Cerebral Palsy who was at VIII Inclusive class and also the teacher as the data triangulation in order to analyse the data. As the type of ethnographic research study that focuses on a single unit which has unique cases, this present research was applied to analyse the challenges faced by the student. The researcher found that the attributes of Successful Oral Fluency Practice were appeared in learning teaching process including Inhibitions, Nothing to say, Low or Uneven Participation, and Mother Tongue Use. The subject also had their actions including Learner Talk a Lot, Motivation is High, Participation is Even, and Language is of an acceptable level. Moreover, there was several factors from inside also outside which disturbed them psychologically and mentally.
