Abstract
Pandemi Covid-19 berdampak besar terhadap dunia pendidikan. Hal ini juga berdampak pada Mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Angkatan 2019 yang telah melaksanakan pembelajaran daring selama 2 tahun. Pada semester ganjil 2022/2023, mereka harus melakukan praktik mengajar atau P4 (Program Pengenalan dan Pengelolaan Pembelajaran) di lembaga pendidikan formal seperti SMP dan SMA/SMK sebagai calon guru Bahasa Inggris dan harus melakukan praktek secara luring sebagai calon guru. Hal ini, tentu menjadi tantangan dan hal baru bagi calon guru. Ditekankan oleh penelitian sebelumnya belum ada yang mendefinisikan persepsi guru bahasa Inggris prajabatan tentang praktik mengajar setelah Covid-19. 19. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan persepsi calon guru bahasa Inggris dalam pelaksanaan praktik mengajar pasca pandemi Covid-19. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode campuran dimana pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Instrumen penelitian berupa angket dan wawancara semi terstruktur. Terdapat 51 partisipan pada pengisian angket dan 3 partisipan pada wawacara semi terstruktur, yang telah melakukan praktik mengajar pada semester ganjil 2022/2023. Temuan penelitian ini dilaporkan dalam bagian berikut: 1) persepsi tentang keseluruhan pengalaman praktik mengajar luring pasca-pandemi, 2) persepsi terhadap manfaat yang diperoleh dari praktik mengajar luring pasca-pandemi, 3) persepsi terhadap tantangan praktik mengajar luring pasca pandemi, 4) persepsi terhadap tantangan sebagai guru bahasa Inggris selama praktik mengajar luring pasca pandemi. Penelitian menemukan bahwa praktik mengajar pascapandemi Covid-19 merupakan tantangan baru dan memberikan manfaat yang dapat menjadikan Prajabatan untuk mengembangkan dan memperdalam ilmu dalam mengajar secara lebih profesional. Manfaat yang dirasakan oleh calon guru terdiri dari: 1) mendapatkan banyak pengetahuan baru, 2) meningkatkan kemampuan pedadigic, 3) mendapatkan konsep mengajar yang professional.
English Abstract
The Covid-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on education. This also impacts on English Language Education Students Batch 2019 who have carried out online learning for 2 years. In the first semester of 2022/2023, they must do teaching practice or the P4 (Program Pengenalan dan Pengelolaan Pembelajaran) in formal educational institutions such as SMP and SMA/SMK as a pre-service English teacher and must practice offline as pre-service teachers. This is certainly a challenge and a new thing for pre-service teachers. Emphasis by the previous studies that have not defined perceptions of pre-service English teachers on teaching practice after Covid-19. The purpose of this study is to describe the perceptions of the pre-service English teachers in the implementation of teaching practice after the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used in this research is a mixed method in which quantitative and qualitative approaches with a case study design. The research instruments were in the form of questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. There are 51 participants in the questionnaire test and 3 participants in the semi-structured interview who had carried out teaching practice in the first semester of 2022/2023. The findings of the research are reported in the following sections: 1) perception of the overall post-pandemic offline teaching practice experience, 2) perception towards the benefits derived from offline teaching practices post-pandemic, 3) perception towards the challenges of offline teaching practices post-pandemic, 4) perception towards the challenges as an English teacher during offline teaching practice post-pandemic. Research has found that teaching practice after the Covid-19 pandemic is a new challenge and provides benefits that can make pre-service to develop and deepen knowledge in teaching more professional. The benefits felt by the pre-service teacher include 1) getting a lot of new knowledge, 2) improving their pedagogic skills, and 3) getting a professional concept of teaching.
