Abstract
Dikarenakan situasi pandemic covid-19, mahasiswa Universitas Brawijaya mengikuti kelas mereka dengan metode online. Karena situasi tersebut, komunikasi antar mahasiswa dengan dosen dan mahasiswa lainya jadi terbatasi. Karena perbedaan dari intensitas komunikasi dan suasana kelas. Karena itu, peneliti tertarik untuk mencari tahu bagaimana persepsi mahasiswa Universitas Brawijaya terhadap kelas online. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan survey sebagai desain. Questionnaire nya mengadopsi dari questionnaire milik Ridho (2020). Subjek penelitian ini berasal dari siswa Angkatan 2018, 2019, 2020 Universitas Brawijaya. Questionnaire nya berkomposisikan atas 16 pertanyaan dengan interaksi dan suasana kelas sebagai fokus. Data dianalisa menggunakan rata-rata dan frekuensi. Hasilnya adalah, siswa merasa kalau di dalam kelas online sering ada mis-komunikasi dengan dosen (mean= 3.87) dan mahasiswa lainya (mean=3.75), siswa lebih memilih kelas offline sebagai preferensi dalam belajar (mean= 4). Kesimpulanya, mahasiswa Brawijaya merasa tidak nyaman dengan kelas online. Dikarenakan, seringnya masalah interaksi di kelas membuat mereka tidak mampu menyerap pengetahuan yang diberikan dosen. Oleh karena itu, dosen dianjurkan untuk lebih sering dalam memotivasi siswa di kelas online. Dosen juga bisa memberikan instruksi yang lebih jelas dalam memberikan tugas. English Abstract
Because of Covid-19 Pandemic, students from Universitas Brawijaya are engaging in online learning. Because of this, student has a limited way of interacting with either lecturer or other students. As there is big difference in interaction and environment, the researcher is interested in finding the perception of students at Universitas Brawijaya toward online learning. This study employed quantitative approach and using survey as the design. To gain the data the researcher adopts the questionnaire from Ridho (2020). The questionnaire contained 16 items which focused on online learning interaction and environment. The population of the subject research are 452 students from Universitas Brawijaya from academic year 2018, 2019, 2020. The data was analyzed with simple computation application Ms. Excel to provide means. The result stated that most of the students feel that miscommunication often happen with the lecturer (mean= 3.87) and miscommunication also happened between students (mean=3.75), and students prefer learning in offline class than online class (mean= 4). The study implied, Universitas Brawijaya students were quite uncomfortable with online learning. Miscommunication between student-lecturer and student-student are often happen. Because of that, they can’t perfectly comprehend the lesson. Most of students also want to go back to offline learning. Therefore, the researcher suggests that teacher can encourage the students by giving motivation for students in online class. Teacher can also fix the instruction properly in giving assignment. If the teacher can make the instruction clearer, there won’t be any miscommunication in the online class.
