Abstract
Dampak teknologi dalam pendidikan adalah implikasi TIK sebagai media dalam proses belajar mengajar. Salah satu teknologi digital untuk media pembelajaran berbasis TIK adalah YouTube. YouTube memiliki peran dalam membantu guru dalam menyampaikan materi pembelajaran khususnya dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi persepsi siswa kelas VIII tentang penggunaan YouTube dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di SMPN 1 Kedungpring. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode survei dan penyebaran angket yang terdiridari 16 pernyataan kepada 122 siswakelas VIII SMPN 1 Kedungpring - Lamongan. Hasil akhir adalah akumulasi skor rata-rata ketiga aspek teori Walgito (2010) dalam persepsi; kognitif (33,36%), afektif (33,29%), dan konatif (33,33%). Penelitian ini menghasilkan saran untuk; Guru bahasa Inggris yang diharapkan memperhatikan aspek; kognitif, afektif, dan konatif berdasarkan temuan penelitian ini ketika guru bahasa Inggris menggunakan YouTube dalam proses pembelajaran bahasa Inggris untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Bagi institusi, disarankan untuk meningkatkan fasilitas infrastruktur internet dan menyediakan alat untuk mengimplementasikan penggunaan YouTube dalam proses pembelajaran di institusi untuk guru dan siswa. Akhir kata, bagi peneliti selanjutnya, peneliti berharap penelitian ini dapat menjadi acuan bagi peneliti selanjutnya dalam mencari penelitian lain atau penelitian terkait. Selebihnya, peneliti selanjutnya dapat mengetahui lebih lanjut tentang persepsi siswa tentang YouTube dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris berdasarkan aspek yang berbeda dari siswa kelas tujuh.
English Abstract
The impact of technology in education is theimplication of ICT as a medium in the teaching and learning process. One of the digital technologies for ICT-based learning media is YouTube, which plays a role in assisting teachers in delivering English learning materials. The purpose of this study was to identify the perception of eighth graders about the use of YouTube in learning English at SMPN 1 Kedungpring. The research method used in this study was a survey method and distributing questionnaires consisting of 16 statements to 122 class VIII students of SMPN 1 Kedungpring - Lamongan. The final result is the accumulation of the average score of the three aspects of Walgito's theory (2010) in perception; cognitive (33.36%), affective (33.29%), and conative (33.33%). This research produces suggestions for; English teachers who are expected to pay attention to aspects; cognitive, affective, and conative based on the findings of this study when English teachers use YouTube in the English learning process to achieve learning objectives. For institutions, it is recommended to improve internet infrastructure facilities and provide tools to implement the use of YouTube in the learning process at institutions for teachers and students. Finally, for further researchers, the researcher hopes that this research can be a reference to further researchers in finding other research or related research. Furthermore, for the next researcher can find out more about students' perceptions of YouTube in learning English based on other aspects of seventh-grade students.
