Abstract

Jagung manis (Zea mays var. saccharata Sturt) merupakan komoditas yang banyak disukai masyarakat di Indonesia. Jagung manis disukai masyarakat karena rasanya yang manis dan mengandung manfaat didalamnya. Jagung manis umumnya dimanfaatkan masyarakat dengan cara direbus secara langsung tanpa ada perlakuan khusus. Namun jagung manis juga dimanfaatkan untuk bahan baku industri. Menurut data Kementan tahun 2018 disebutkan bahwa pada tahun 2016 produksi jagung di Indonesia sebesar 23,58 juta ton ha-1 dan pada tahun 2017 sebesar 28,92 juta ton ha-1. Sebelum melepaskan varietas, perusahaan perlu melakukan beberapa langkah, salah satunya adalah uji daya hasil. Uji daya hasil di perlukan untuk mengetahui produktifitas calon varietas baru yang akan dilepas, apakah sesuai dengan keinginan perusahaan dan kebutuhan pasar atau tidak, sehingga penelitian tentang uji daya hasil hibrida harapan perlu dilakukan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di lahan milik PT. BISI International Tbk. di Kecamatan Pujon, Kabupaten Malang. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari – Mei 2020. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan Rancangan Acak kelompok (RAK) dengan 8 perlakuan yaitu 3 hibrida harapan jagung manis 16ES007 (A), 16ES013 (B), dan 16ES009 (C) dan 5 varietas pembanding jagung manis Master Sweet (D), Prima (E), Bonanza 1 (F), Bonanza 9 (G), dan Asia 86 (H). Masing – masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 4 kali sehingga terdapat 32 satuan percobaan. Dilakukan pengacakan pada setiap plot ulangan. Jarak tanam yang digunakan adalah 75cm x 20cm. Setiap satuan percobaan terdapat 100 lubang tanam. Peubah pengamatan meliputi tinggi tanaman, tinggi letak tongkol, diameter batang, bobot tongkol dengan klobot, bobot tongkol tanpa klobot, panjang tongkol tanpa klobot, diameter tongkol tanpa klobot, bobot janggel, jumlah baris pertongkol, jumlah biji perbaris, kadar gula, potensi hasil dan rendemen. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbandingan pertumbuhan dan hasil hibrida harapan dengan varietas pembanding. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hibrida 16ES007 memiliki beberapa karakter penunjang penampilan yang baik yaitu tinggi tanaman, tinggi tongkol, jumlah biji per baris, jumlah baris per tongkol, diameter tongkol, bobot tongkol tanpa klobot, bobot tongkol dengan klobot. Hibrida harapan 16ES007 dengan potensi hasil sebesar 14,61 ton ha-1 memiliki potensi hasil yang lebih tinggi jika dibandingkan dengan 5 varietas pembanding Mastersweet dengan potensi hasil sebesar 8,49 ton ha-1, Prima sebesar 8,16 ton ha-1, Bonanza 1 sebesar 9,42 ton ha-1, Bonanza 9 sebesar 10,26 ton ha-1, dan Asia 86 sebesar 5,97 ton ha-1. Hibrida harapan 16ES009 dengan potensi hasil sebesar 10,5 ton ha-1 memiliki potensi hasil yang lebih tinggi jika dibandingkan dengan varietas Asia 86 dengan potensi hasil sebesar 5,97 ton ha-1. Sedangkan hibrida harapan 16ES013 dengan potensi hasil sebesar 8,16 ton ha-1 memiliki potensi hasil yang sama dengan varietas pembanding yang digunakan. Hibrida 16ES007 dengan nilai rendemen 75,92% dan 16ES013 dengan nilai 74,04% memiliki nilai rendemen lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan 5 varietas ii pembanding Mastersweet dengan nilai rendemen 68,52%, Prima dengan nilai 67,19%, Bonanza 1 dengan nilai 61,66%), Bonanza 9 dengan nilai 66,11%, dan Asia 86 dengan nilai 68,29%

Andy Soegianto, CESA. as main supervisor and Azis Rifianto, S.P., M. Si. as field supervisor. Sweet corn (Zea mays var. saccharata Sturt) is a commodity that many people like in Indonesia. Sweet corn is preferred by the public because of its sweet taste and contains benefits in it. Sweet corn is generally used by the public by boiling it directly without any special treatment. But sweet corn is also used for industrial raw materials. According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture in 2018 it was stated that in 2016 corn production in Indonesia amounted to 23.58 million tons ha-1 and in 2017 it was 28.92 million tons ha-1. Before releasing varieties, companies need to take several steps, one of which is the yield test. The yield test is needed to determine the productivity of the prospective new varieties to be released, whether in accordance with the wishes of the company and market needs or not, so research on the expected yield of hybrid strain lines needs to be done. This research carried out on land owned by PT BISI International Tbk. in Pujon District, Malang Regency. The study was conducted in January - May 2020. The materials used in this study include 3 prospective hybrid varieties and 5 comparative sweet corn varieties. 3 prospective varieties of hope used are 16ES007 (A), 16ES013 (B), and 16ES009 (C) originating from PT BISI International Tbk. While the comparative varieties used are Master Sweet (D), Prima (E), Bonanza 1 (F), Bonanza 9 (G), and Asia 86 (H). This research conducted using a randomized block design (RBD) with 8 treatments, namely 3 lines of prospective hybrid and 5 varieties of sweet corn comparison. Each treatment was repeated 4 times so that there were 32 experimental units. Randomization was performed on each replication plot. Plant spacing used is 75cm x 20cm. Each unit of experiment there are 100 planting holes. Observation variables included height of tunm, height of ear, stem diameter, weight of ear with husk, weight of ear without husk, length of ear without husk, diameter of ear without husk, diameter of ear, weight of ear, number of row ear, number of seeds per row, sugar content, yield potential and yield. The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of growth and yield of hope lines with comparative varieties. The results showed that the 16ES007 hybrid had several supporting characters for good appearance, namely plant height, ear height, number of seeds per row, number of rows per ear, diameter of the ear, weight of ear without husk, weight of cob with husk. The potential hybrid 16ES007 with a yield potential of 14.61 tons ha-1 has a higher yield potential when compared to the 5 comparison varieties Mastersweet with a yield potential of 8.49 tons ha-1, Prima 8.16 tons ha- 1, Bonanza 1 of 9.42 tons ha-1, Bonanza 9 of 10.26 tons ha-1, and Asia 86 of 5.97 tons ha-1. The potential hybrid 16ES009 with a yield potential of 10.5 tons ha-1 has a higher yield potential when compared to the Asian 86 variety with a potential yield of 5.97 tons ha-1. Meanwhile,potential hybrid 16ES013 with a yield potential of 8.16 tons ha-1 has the same yield potential as the comparison variety used. Hybrids 16ES007 with a yield value of 75.92% and 16ES013 with a value of 74.04% had a higher yield value compared to 5 comparison varieties Mastersweet iv with a yield value of 68.52%, Prima with a value of 67.19%, Bonanza 1 with a value of 61.66%), Bonanza 9 with a value of 66.11%, and Asia 86 with a value of 68.29%
