Abstract
Benih unggul dan bermutu tinggi merupakan input utama dalam budidaya karena memilki peran berkesinambungan terhadap produksi tanaman. Dalam upaya meningkatkan produksi tanaman, petani dihadapkan dengan suatu permasalahan yaitu beredarnya benih yang telah melewati batas waktu penggunaan dari masa yang telah ditentukan oleh produsen benih. Akibatnya terjadi penurunan terhadap kualitas dan mutu benih tersebut. Salah satu solusi yang dilakukan agar dapat mengoptimalkan mutu benih kadaluarsa adalah dengan perlakuan invigorasi yaitunya dengan merendam benih kedalam larutan ZPT yang dapat diperoleh secara alami dari ekstrak bahan organik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis ZPT alami dan lama perendaman terhadap viabilitas, vigor dan pertumbuhan bibit benih cabai kadaluarsa. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Green house Lahan Percobaan Jatimulyo Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Brawijaya pada bulan Februari sampai Mei 2022. Metode penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial 2 faktor. Faktor pertama menggunakan jenis ekstrak bahan alami sebagai sumber ZPT alami dan Faktor kedua menggunakan lama perendaman yang berbeda. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan 4 kali ulangan dan terdapat 12 kombinasi perlakuan dan terdapat 48 satuan percobaan. Variabel pengamatan yang digunakan yaitu daya berkecambah, potensi tumbuh benih, kecepatan berkecambah, tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun dan panjang akar. Hasil analis data menggunakan sidik ragam uji F taraf nyata 5% dan 1% dan hasil sidik ragam yang berbeda nyata selanjutnya dilakukan uji lanjut Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan jenis ZPT alami yang berasal dari ekstrak bawang merah, rebung dan air kelapa menunjukkan hasil yang berpengaruh nyata baik itu terhadap uji viabilitas dan vigor benih maupun terhadap pengamatan pertumbuhan bibit. Penggunaan bahan ZPT alami yang berasal dari ekstrak bawang merah (P2) menunjukkan hasil yang paling signifikan hampir pada semua variabel pengamatan yang diamati. Perlakuan lama perendaman menunjukkan hasil berpengaruh nyata terhadap uji viabilitas dan vigor benih. Pada pengamatan pertumbuhan bibit perlakuan lama perendaman berpengaruh nyata terhadap variabel tinggi tanaman dan jumlah daun akan tetapi tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap variabel panjang akar. Perlakuan lama perendaman selama 6 jam (L3) menunjukkan efisiensi waktu terbaik pada semua variabel pengamatan dikarenakan menunjukkan hasil yang paling signifikan hampir pada semua variabel pengamatan yang diamati. Interaksi antara perlakuan jenis ZPT alami dan lama perendaman berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap seluruh variabel baik itu pada uji viabilitas dan indeks vigor benih maupun terhadap pengamatan pertumbuhan bibit.
English Abstract
Superior and high quality seeds are the main inputs in cultivation because they have a sustainable role in crop production. In an effort to increase crop production, farmers are faced with a problem, namely the circulation of seeds that have passed the time limit for use from the period determined by the seed producer. As a result there is a decrease in the quality and quality of the seeds. One of the solutions to optimize the quality of expired seeds is by invigorating the seeds by soaking the seeds into a PGR solution which can be obtained naturally from organic matter extracts. This study aimed to determine the effect of natural ingredients as a source of natural PGR and soaking duration on viability, vigor and growth of expired chili seeds. The research was carried out at the Jatimulyo Experimental Land Greenhouse, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Brawijaya from February to May 2022. The research method used Completely Randomized Design Factorial. The first factor uses a type of extract of natural ingredients as a source of natural PGR and the second factor uses a soaking duration. The study was conducted using 4 replications and there were 12 treatment combinations and there were 48 experimental units. The observation variables used were germination, seed growth potential, germination speed, plant height, number of leaves and root length. The results of the data analysis used the F test variance with significant levels of 5% and 1% and the results of the significantly different variance were then carried out further testing by Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% level. The results showed that the treatment of natural ZPT types derived from extracts of shallots, bamboo shoots and coconut water showed results that had a significant effect on both the viability and seed vigor test as well as on the observation of seedling growth. The use of natural PGR ingredients derived from onion extract (P2) showed the most significant results in almost all observed variables. The soaking duration treatment showed a significant effect on the viability and vigor of the seeds. On the observation of seedling growth, soaking duration had a significant effect on the variables of plant height and number of leaves but did not have an effect on the variable root length. The treatment of immersion for 6 hours (L3) showed the best time efficiency on all observation variables because it showed the most significant results in almost all observed variables. The interaction between the treatment of natural PGR species and soaking duration had no significant effect on all variables, both on the viability test and seed vigor index as well as on the observation of seedling growth.
