Abstract
Paria (Momordica charantia L.) merupakan salah satu komoditas tanaman hortikultura potensial untuk dikembangkan karena permintaan terus mengalami peningkatan. Penggunaan varietas unggul berperan dalam meningkatkan keberhasilan usahatani. Salah satu tahapan pemuliaan untuk memperoleh varietas unggul baru melalui uji daya hasil galur harapan yang akan dilepas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi hasil dari dua galur harapan tanaman paria dibandingkan dengan varietas pembandingnya di dataran medium. Diduga galur harapan yang diuji memiliki hasil yang sama atau lebih baik dibandingkan varietas pembanding di dataran medium. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret-Juni 2022 di lahan penelitian PT. Aditya Sentana Agro Malang di Kecamatan Karang Ploso, Kabupaten Malang. Alat yang digunakan yaitu gunting kuku, cangkul, tray semai, mulsa, alat plong lubang mulsa, gembor, ajir, alfaboard, label, knapsack sprayer, jangka sorong, meteran jahit, timbangan analitik, form pengamatan, kamera, dan alat tulis. Bahan yang digunakan yaitu benih paria galur harapan yaitu BG2104 dan BG2105, benih paria Trinity F1 dan Lipa F1, tanah, kompos, pupuk kandang, pupuk NPK Majemuk 16:16:16, pupuk SP- 36, dan pestisida. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) terdiri atas 4 perlakuan yaitu 2 galur harapan dan 2 varietas pembanding diulang 6 kali. Data hasil pengamatan dianalisa menggunakan analisis ragam pada taraf 5% dan dilanjutkan dengan uji BNJ taraf 5%. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa umur berbunga dan umur panen galur harapan 1 dan 2 lebih cepat dari varietas pembandingnya. Pengamatan terhadap diameter batang, panjang daun, dan lebar daun tidak menunjukkan adanya beda nyata antar perlakuan yang diuji. Hasil pengamatan terhadap panjang buah, diameter buah, bobot per buah, jumlah buah per tanaman, bobot buah per tanaman, bobot buah per plot, dan hasil per hektar, menunjukkan bahwa galur harapan 1 secara konsisten memiliki nilai tinggi dan berbeda nyata dengan galur harapan 2 dan dua varietas pembandingnya kecuali pada karakter diameter buah yang hanya terjadi perbedaan antara galur harapan 2 dengan varietas Trinity F1.
English Abstract
Bitter gourd (Momordica charantia L.) is one of the horticultural crop potential to developed that has increasing demand. The use of superior varieties is one of the important things that play a role in increasing the success of farming. One of the breeding stages is to obtain new superior varieties through the yield potential test of the selected breeding lines to be released. This study aims to determine the yield potential of two selected breeding lines of bitter gourd. It is suspected that the selected breeding lines have the same or better results than the comparison varieties. This research has been held in March-June 2022. This research was conducted in the experimental field of PT. Aditya Sentana Agro Malang, Karang Ploso District, Malang Regency. The tools used are hoe, seedling tray, nail clippers, mulch, mulch hole tool, watering pot, stake, alphaboard, label, knapsack sprayer, caliper, sewing meter, analytical balance, observation form, camera, and stationery. The materials used are the bitter gourd seeds of the selected breeding lines BG2104 and BG2105, two hybrid varieties Trinity F1 and Lipa F1, soil, compost, manure, NPK fertilizer, SP-36 fertilizer, and pesticides. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) which consists of four treatments. The data were analyzed using a analysis of variance at the 5% level and followed by the HSD test at the 5% level. Based on the observations, the flowering and harvesting ages of the selected breeding lines 1 and 2 showed faster than the comparison varieties. Observation on stem diameter, leaf length, and leaf width did not show any significant difference between the selected breeding lines and the comparison varieties. The results of observations on fruit length, fruit diameter, weight per fruit, number of fruit per plant, fruit weight per plant, fruit weight per plot, and fruit weight per hectare, showed that the selected breeding lines 1 consistently had high values and was significantly different from the selected breeding lines 2 and the two comparison varieties except for the diameter of the fruit, where there was only a difference between the selected breeding lines 2 and the Trinity F1 variety.
