Abstract
Arah gerak angin mempengaruhi budaya kerja nelayan.
English Abstract
The direction of the wind affects the work culture of fishermen. Especially in the westerly season or westerly season which lasts from September to the peak of January. The western season is also known as the famine season, so many fishermen do not go to sea to maintain the safety of themselves and their tools. The income earned is no longer dependent on fishing. Instead, it relies on the activities of looking for shells, tumpengan, and sea snails carried out by groups of men and women. The arrival of the western season is marked by natural phenomena such as high sea waves, accompanied by strong winds and heavy rain. This condition resulted in an unavoidable collision between the bodies of the boat, causing damage. Therefore, the initial motive for the construction of the breakwater physical infrastructure is expected to have an effect on calmer port activities. However, three breakwater infrastructures have emerged in the Njar Kulon area, Kranji Village, which have their own motives. The existence of too much physical infrastructure has actually affected the change in alternative livelihood strategies that were previously carried out by fishing communities. Thus, in this study, I propose the formulation of the problem related to how diversification of livelihoods becomes an adaptation strategy for the fishing community of Njar Kulon in facing infrastructure changes? In order to answer the problem in this research, I used an ethnographic method through domain analysis as well as the concept of diagnostic material in chapter three to describe the conditions before and after the construction of the breakwater infrastructure. Meanwhile, in chapter four, we use taxonomic analysis as well as the concept of gender as performance to understand the direction of movement of women's economic changes and the division of labor for fishermen after the construction of infrastructure. In the end, the existence of too much infrastructure emphasizes the sea arena for men and land for women. It also shows that it is the women's group who are more flexible and responsive to changes in infrastructure that affect their household economy.
