Abstract

Tugas Akhir, Program Studi Sarjana Kebidanan, Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Brawijaya. Pembimbing: (1) dr. Ni Luh Putu Herli Mastuti, Sp.A., M.Biomed (2) Ratna Diana Fransiska, S.ST. MPH. Latar Belakang: Disabilitas intelektual atau keterbelakangan mental didefinisikan sebagai disabilitas yang ditandai dengan adanya keterbatasan yang signifikan, yaitu dalam fungsi intelektual dan perilaku adaptif, serta mencakup kondisi keterampilan sosial dan praktis sehari-hari (AAIDD, 2017). Keterlambatan perkembangan pada anak dengan retardasi mental dapat berpengaruh dalam upaya melakukan kebersihan diri yang lazimnya dilakukan anak seperti kebersihan tangan, kaki, mulut, dan kebersihan baju. Dalam hal ini, pola asuh orang tua dinilai menjadi faktor yang dapat memengaruhi anak dalam perkembangan kemandirian, serta dapat membantu dalam pembentukan pola perilaku anak. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pola asuh orang tua dengan kemampuan personal hygiene pada anak retardasi mental. Metode: Menggunakan literature review dengan desain studi Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Sebanyak 10 jurnal digunakan yang terbit pada rentang tahun 2010-2020 dan membahas hubungan pola asuh dengan tingkat kemandirian personal hygiene anak retardasi mental. Hasil: Sebanyak 7 jurnal menunjukkan bahwa pola asuh yang baik dan keterlibatan kedua orang tua dalam mengasuh anak retardasi mental berkaitan erat dengan tingkat kemandirian anak dalam hal kebersihan diri. Tiga jurnal lainnya menunjukkan bahwa adanya dukungan serta peran aktif dari keluarga, orang terdekat, dan guru dapat meningkatkan kemandirian anak retardasi mental dalam hal kebersihan diri atau sosialiasi dalam masyarakat. Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan pola asuh yang diterapkan orang tua dalam mengasuh anak dengan tingkat kemampuan personal hygiene pada anak retardasi mental. Background: Intellectual disability is a disability characterized by significant limitations in both intellectual functioning and in adaptive behavior, which covers many daily social life and practical skills (AAIDD, 2017). The existence of growth delays in mental retardation children can affect the effort to maintain personal hygiene which is usually can be done by children such as hand, foot, mouth, and clothes hygiene. In this case, parenting style is seen as a determinant factor that can influence the development of independence and shaping children's behavior. Purpose: To determine the correlation between parenting styles and the ability of personal hygiene in mental retardation children. Method: Using a literature review with a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) study design. A total of 10 journals were used which were published in the period 2010-2020 and discussed the relationship between parenting style with the level of personal hygiene independence of children with mental retardation. Results: A total of 7 journals showed that good parenting style and the involvement of both parents in taking care for their children with mental retardation were closely related to the lgevel of children's independence in personal hygiene. Three other journals show that the support and active role of family, close-related person, and teachers can increase the independence of mentally retarded children in terms of self-care or socialization in society. Conclusion: There is a correlation between parenting style that applies by parents in taking care for their children with the level of personal hygiene skills in children with mental retardation.
