Abstract
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode analisis Semiotika. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana karakter perrempuan yang ditampilkan dalam film Superhero sebagai leadership. Film ini sebagai film Superhero pertama yang dipimpin perempuan Studio Marvel, meski film Captain Marvel merupakan film dari alur cerita komik. Analisis yang dilakukan dalam penelitian dengan metode analisis Semiotika John Fiske tersebut ditemukan representasi Male Gaze dalam film Captain Marvel. Male Gaze yang digunakan yakni pandangan laki-laki terhadap perempuan. Digunakan tahapan analisis tiga tahap dari John Fiske yakni level realitas, level representasi, dan level ideologi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah pada level realitas terdapat pada gesture, ekspresi wajah, penampilan, perilaku, ucapan, lingkungan, dan suara. Pada level representasi yaitu kode camera angle, lighting, editing, narasi, konflik, setting, musik, karakter, dan aksi. Sedangkan pada level ideologi diungkapkan pada aspek patriarki dimana perempuan memegang kendali laki-laki, dan yang kedua yakni level kelas yang terangkum dalam daya produktif dan tenaga kerja perempuan. Peneliti mengamati pesan yang disampaikan pada film Captain Marvel ini mengenai banyak hal. Baik dalam pengendalian atau kontrol kekuatan dalam diri setiap manusia, suatu kepercayaan diri untuk dapat bangkit dan berjuang dalam menghadapi segala masalah.
English Abstract
This research is a descriptive qualitative study with semiotic analysis methods. The purpose of this research is to find out how the female characters featured in superhero movies as leadership. This film is a studio Marvel's first female-led Superhero film, although Captain Marvel was the film of the comic storyline. Analysis conducted in the study by John Fiske's Semiotic analysis method found a representation of Male Gaze in the film Captain Marvel. Male Gaze is used as a male view of women. The analysis used by John Fiske's three-stage analysis is the level of reality, the level of representation, and the level of ideology. The results of this study are at the level of reality found in gestures, facial expressions, appearance, behavior, speech, environment, and sound. At the representation level are camera angle code, lighting, editing, narration, conflict, setting, music, character, and action. Meanwhile, at the ideological level it is expressed in the patriarchal aspect in which women are in control of men, and the second is the level of class that is summarized in the productive power and workforce of women. Researchers observed the message conveyed in this Captain Marvel film about many things. Whether in control or control of strength in every human being, a confidence to be able to rise up and fight in the face of all problems.
